The astral energy around him flared violently, responding to his resolve. Zhal'Mortis spread his wings again, shadows rippling as the Domain thickened. The hollow Yumi stepped aside obediently, her empty gaze never leaving Kael.

The demon raised his scythe.

And Kael charged.

He didn't think about anything as he was blank.

Every step tore at his injured leg, but the strength elixir forced it to obey, muscles screaming as they carried him forward faster than his body should have allowed.

Zhal'Mortis swung.

The scythe carved through the air, aimed not at Kael's body—but his soul.

Kael twisted at the last second, the blade grazing his side.

A wave of numbness washed through him as part of his essence was shaved away, leaving him gasping.

The demon laughed harder.

Kael answered by slamming his fist into the ground.

Astral energy erupted outward, cracking the stone and forcing Zhal'Mortis to step back.

(That power … it seems to be related to the demon's power), Zhal thought.

Kael lunged again, swinging his sword with everything he had left.

The demon blocked effortlessly.

And again.

Each clash sent shockwaves through the hall, but Zhal'Mortis remained unmoved, his laughter relentless, his hollow eyes gleaming with cruel delight.

"Yes," the demon's presence whispered into Kael's mind.

Fight.

Bleed.

Break yourself for nothing.

Kael staggered as another scythe strike grazed his shoulder, tearing deeper than flesh, ripping at his soul until his vision swam.

He nearly fell.

But he didn't.

He planted his feet.

His breathing was ragged, his body trembling, mana spiraling out of control inside him.

"Laugh all you want," Kael thought, lifting his sword once more. "I'm not stopping."

Astral light flared brighter around him, unstable and wild.

The demon raised his scythe again, amused, confident, certain of the outcome.

And Kael—

Broken, bleeding, furious—

Just as he was falling in the fight again, Kael drank all his elixirs from the bag he opened.

The mana around them surrounds Kael.

The pressure is felt both by the saber girl and Yumi.

(Is this his strength? )

Yumi thought.

(The strength of my master is the same as the demon's second lord… that's how he should be) The saber girl thought.

"This is my fight.. if I die in here, I will die like a mob character in this novel.

The beast girl and saber girl closed their eyes from the dust from that lunch.

" He should be," the saber girl replied.

He didn't have time to block the skill from Kael.

Again the dust filled the surrounding.

Kael stepped forward.
