Janelle Mills truly regrets not taking her for a health check-up earlier, regrets not realizing the seriousness of the problem, regrets... regrets! She regrets it so much she could turn her guts blue!
Trevor hears her crying, and his heart aches as if torn apart. He desperately wants to hold her, but he has to drive!
"I... I left home at seven this morning, my breakfast was prepared by mom, she was fine when I left, there was nothing unusual."
Her voice trembles as she tightly holds her mother’s hand, "Mom... stay strong."
How long has she been unconscious?
Her body has become so cold, everyone feels heartbroken.
Everyone holds their breath as the car reaches maximum speed!
Luckily, Trevor’s driving skills are excellent, and the car quickly stops outside the inpatient department hall of Providence Hospital, where professional medical staff are waiting.
The car door opens, and Nathan Mills carries Carlotta Sterling out of the car, "She’s unconscious! Her breathing is weak! Hurry, save her!"
He rushes straight to the hospital hall with the doctors, not even having time to set down a stretcher; it’s a mad dash against the clock!
Trevor and Janelle Mills follow closely behind, joining the emergency elevator with the medical staff to go upstairs!
During the few seconds in the elevator, a doctor checks Carlotta Sterling’s pulse, and someone asks about her fainting, "When did she faint? Were there any symptoms before? How long ago?"
"I don’t know, probably after seven." Nathan Mills holds her across his waist, his arms aching, but he doesn’t feel any burden, "I just found her collapsed at the top of the stairs, her body had already started to cool down, and her breathing was weak."
"She needs immediate oxygen," the doctor says.
Ding—
The elevator doors open, and Nathan Mills carries Carlotta Sterling with the medical staff towards the emergency room.
Two doctors are already waiting outside the emergency room, a stretcher ready, "Quick, place her on it, you can’t enter the emergency room!"
The doctor reminds him.
Though reluctant, Nathan Mills remains rational; he places Carlotta Sterling on the stretcher, and it is quickly pushed in by the doctors.
"Family members wait outside!" With that, several doctors promptly head inside and close the emergency room doors.
The three stand outside the emergency room door, their hearts weighed down by heavy stones, yet feeling empty.
Trevor puts an arm around Janelle’s shoulders, looking at her tear-streaked face with concern. He wipes her tears away, "She’ll recover, the doctors will find a way..." he reassures her, then pulls her into a hug, letting her forehead rest against his chest.
Nathan Mills recalls the terrifying scene, strongly sensing that Carlotta Sterling’s fainting isn’t a simple issue, surely some part of her body has a problem.
"It’s all my fault..." Janelle Mills blames herself, her voice trembling and sobbing.
Remembering the two previous times she noticed something unusual, she regrets so much she could turn her guts blue, "I didn’t take it seriously, didn’t persuade her to see a doctor sooner."
Nathan Mills, hearing this, turns his gaze to his daughter with a puzzled look, "Janelle, what did you just say..."
She lifts her head from Trevor’s embrace, her face covered in tears, looking at her father—
"There were two times before, mom had signs of dizziness, I advised her to see a doctor, but each time she felt better after resting... The day she returned from Korland, I went to pick her up at the airport..."
Recalling that day, Janelle Mills hates herself for not insisting, "She had symptoms of dizziness again, I told her to go to the hospital, but she refused again, she promised to get a check-up after the New Year..."
"With these symptoms, why didn’t you tell me earlier?" Old Mills was anxious, not blaming his daughter.
Janelle cries and says, "I thought she just had hypoglycemia..." She regrets as well.
Treatment should be timely.
"Hypoglycemia wouldn’t cause someone to faint for this long," Old Mills tells her, "Most of the time, hypoglycemia lets people regain consciousness after some rest, this is clearly a prolonged unconsciousness, definitely not hypoglycemia."
Hearing this, Janelle Mills grows even more afraid; Trevor once again pulls her into an embrace, and everyone anxiously waits.
