Chapter 1699: This Is Happiness

3 min read

Riventhal, on the main road toward the little villa, the breeze swayed the sycamore leaves, and the brilliant sunlight fell through the gaps between leaves, casting dappled shadows on the car. A Maybach was driving forward at a speed of 60 miles. Trevor was driving himself, while Janelle Mills sat happily in the passenger seat.

An English song, calming in mood, was playing in the car. The melody was particularly pleasant, and the volume was just right.

She lowered her eyes while flipping through the exquisite notebook in her hand, which had tables listing 100 romantic things couples should do together.

In the past few days, they had already completed four things: watching a horror movie while eating popcorn, where she buried her head against his chest.

Wearing a white gauze dress and barefoot on the soft sandy beach, they interlocked fingers, waiting for the sunset by the sea.

Closing her eyes, she let Trevor lead her down a long flower-lined path. She smiled while smelling the flowers, and he shared stories he had heard in his childhood...

She accompanied him home, and they cooked dinner together, did household chores together...

Each completed activity had a date noted, along with their thumbprints stamped, enriching the sense of ceremony.

These moments of happiness would fill their forthcoming days.

She flipped through the untouched activities, finding them interesting.

In truth, she loved him; with him, everything felt interesting, regardless of what they were doing — this was love.

Trevor peacefully drove the car, occasionally turning to look at her, always feeling at ease with her by his side.

Seeing Janelle’s smile, he couldn’t help but let his lips curve, a very attractive arc.

If someone’s presence brings inexplicable happiness, then that too is love.

At the moment, the car was filled with an air of happiness. Their relationship had become stable.

"Trevor, will we really get married after completing 100 things?" Turning her eyes, the girl blinked at him with anticipation in her gaze.

Trevor’s voice was warm and pleasant, "Of course, this is our agreement."

"Well, I just did some calculations. If your company isn’t too busy, we could complete at least five things a week."

"Isn’t that perfect? I’ve saved enough for the bride price, so I can marry you home sooner."

Trevor now only wanted to focus on romance. After all, the company’s operations were stable, and this feeling was unlike anything he’d ever experienced — unbeatable by any career success.

Janelle’s presence seemed to awaken every dormant cell in his body, making each day feel full of vitality.

He would go to bed early, anticipating the arrival of morning, eager to see her.

"Janelle, you can choose what you’d like to do first. It doesn’t have to be in order," Trevor said dotingly, "Follow your mood. I’m okay with anything."

"Mm-hmm." When Janelle Mills saw the words ’take a bath together’ in the notebook, she couldn’t help but blush and quickly closed the notebook.

Soon, the car drove into the villa complex. The curved asphalt road was close, and two minutes later, the familiar little villa came into view.

At the same time, the familiar car in the yard also came into view. As Trevor and Janelle saw the car door open, Nathan Mills stepped out carrying a large bouquet of roses, heading toward the living room.

"Stop, stop, quickly stop." Janelle said excitedly and softly.

Trevor pulled the car over to the side. They both tacitly agreed: maybe not to disturb them in this situation?
