Chapter 1694: How Can Mia Lane Help?

3 min read

Ian Shelby nodded, "Alright, I’ll head over right now." He then expressed his thanks again, sadness in his step as he left and walked toward his palace. Ian was even more resolute in his decision; he had to heal his father first! Then deal with this villain!

Eden stood on the grass, squinting slightly as he gazed at the elegant figure fading in the distance. A slight smile played on his lips, the sadness in his heart fleeting.

Before long, he turned and walked back, so happy that he completely forgot Jocelyn Morgan was observing him. A little girl from Riventhal didn’t need to be paid any attention.

Ian returned to his palace.

He was reticent, his heart heavy with pain as he tidied up the pharmaceutical instruments and followed the remedy ingredients in the medical books, collecting some of the needed stems and leaves from the courtyard. However, he was still missing one rare herb, which troubled him.

The anxiety was inevitable; his father couldn’t wait any longer.

But he didn’t hesitate too long; he tidied up his things and returned to the King’s palace.

Meanwhile, Justin Kingston dialed a long-distance call to Mia Lane in Riventhal using his precise judgment.

"Honey, where are you?" Justin sat on the sofa sipping tea, his voice gentle and affectionate, lips involuntarily curving into a faint smile.

"I’m at the hospital with Ethan, just arrived." Mia shared the joy, "He’s grown another two centimeters; the doctor says he’s basically recovered."

"Hmm." He was happy too, but more worried about her, "How have you been lately? Any pregnancy symptoms? Are you eating and sleeping well?"

"I’m doing well, you don’t need to worry about me," Mia asked, "How are things on your end? Did you give the medicine to the King?"

"He did." Justin told her, "The King’s situation isn’t optimistic, it’s unknown if he can pull through; today’s condition is especially bad, reportedly he is coughing up blood."

"Coughing up blood?" Mia’s heart felt a complex mix of emotions, "Just like the final symptoms written in the medical book; my judgment was correct, so the medicine must have some effect, but unfortunately, there isn’t enough."

"If possible, could you produce some more? We might not find that rare herb here." Justin was thoughtful, "Please don’t go back to the village alone; I’ll call Finn Morgan to make time to accompany you."

"Okay." Knowing he was worried, Mia did not refuse, "Is there anything else I can help with?"

"Yes." Justin began telling her the main point of the call...finally saying, "Could you personally come to Lorelei?"

"Sure." Mia didn’t hesitate.

Justin had confidence that he would certainly protect her well.

"Umm... Can I get in touch with Ian Shelby now? What’s his condition?" Mia wanted to have a detailed conversation with him before preparing the medicine.

"He’s been kept by the King’s side and can be contacted at any time."

"Good."

Before long, the call ended.

At that moment, in the King’s palace, Ian carried his box directly into his father’s bedroom, ready to stay by his father’s side at all times.

After feeding the King 50 milliliters of ’plum soup’, Ian sat on the edge of the bed, softly asking, "Father, do you feel any better?"

"Much better, indeed." The King wasn’t consoling him; he spoke the truth and then asked, "Did you make this medicine?"

Ian shook his head, "CEO Kingston brought it over, my master made it."

"Your master?"

"Yes, I have a master; she is an exceptionally skilled Pharmacist, with deep expertise in traditional medicine. She is very young, and she’s CEO Kingston’s wife."

Upon hearing this introduction, the King was incredibly shocked, as if he saw yet another ray of hope.
