Chapter 1684: I’m Not Afraid of Danger

3 min read

"Yes." The servant also breathed a sigh of relief. After all, Mr. Kingston is a big figure, and now that both sides are settled, she turned away with ease. Ian Shelby glanced at her back and left the study door ajar.

But once again, he recalled Jocelyn’s laughter and intimate manner with Taylor, and his heart seemed to be pierced with pain.

It’s hard for him to say a word to her now, yet Taylor can approach her freely.

Ian loves her dearly, and lately that love has been a bit of a struggle.

But isn’t Jocelyn also? A girl writing novels, her thoughts are more delicate than sand.

Soon, the servant led Jocelyn Morgan upstairs.

Justin Kingston was sitting downstairs waiting. The palace was spacious and bright, he would handle everything here, even if Catherine came unexpectedly.

He had a premonition; Ian was being watched.

Although the Prince did not come down to greet them, the servants had brewed tea for Justin Kingston and delivered exquisite, delicious snacks.

Jocelyn followed the servant all the way up the stairs, her heart somewhat conflicted, and at the corner of the stairs, her heart suddenly began to race, pounding vigorously.

She truly missed him, but upon seeing him, a thousand thoughts swirled in her mind, yet she didn’t know which to voice first.

"Miss Morgan, please." The servant bowed respectfully at the door and then knocked on the ajar door, announcing slightly louder, "Prince, Miss Morgan has arrived."

"Come in."

Ian Shelby’s familiar voice came from inside the room; Jocelyn softly said to the servant, "Thank you." Then she withdrew her gaze and gently pushed open the door.

She began to step in,

For the first time entering his study, Jocelyn’s feelings were indescribably complex—the moment the door opened, their eyes met.

She paused, reached up, and softly closed the door.

Standing about three meters away from Ian, just gazing, Jocelyn suddenly felt a sting at the tip of her nose, and crystal-clear tears suddenly fell.

Ian felt a tightness in his chest, quickly walked toward her, locked the door with one hand, while the other arm encircled her, simultaneously kissing her lips.

His familiar scent wafted over her, Jocelyn wrapped her arms around his waist, hugged him tightly, responding to his kiss, suddenly overwhelmed by an urge to cry.

Ian’s kiss was gentle, full of deep affection, and heavy with longing.

This kiss lasted a full three minutes...

Jocelyn’s mind was clear, she worried about not having enough time, worried that Catherine would quickly come as soon as she got the news.

So, she gently pushed him away.

"Jocelyn." Ian pulled her into his arms, "I missed you," still with images of Taylor with his arm around her shoulders flashing through his mind.

"I’m sorry, Ian." Jocelyn felt his warmth, listening to his heartbeat, deeply pained inside, "You probably heard about Taylor today?"

"Yes." He didn’t inquire in detail, his trust in her unconditional, despite the jealousy.

But if she is willing to explain, he’s willing to listen.

"There’s nothing between him and me." Jocelyn hugged him tightly, "I’ve told Taylor many times, I have a boyfriend."

On this, he trusted her.

"Taylor may have always gotten what he wanted since childhood, so he doesn’t care about my relationship status, he thinks himself very superior."

"The trouble he caused you." Ian also felt guilty, "I didn’t take good care of you, dragging you into a dangerous whirlpool."

"No." Rising to meet his gaze, her tear-filled eyes firm, "I want to be with you, I’m not afraid of danger!"
