So, she continued saying –"The restaurant is a relatively private space, and you’re not a doctor, remember your role as a translator."

"I can assert this is a date!"

"And I could ruin your reputation, but as long as you amend your ways and immediately stop this behavior, and stop your heart from leaning towards the King, I can let bygones be bygones."

"I promise to stop this behavior," Jocelyn Morgan said, "It’s not because I’m amending my ways—I haven’t strayed. Also, whether I’m dating the King, he will explain to you! You should ask him!"

Jocelyn Morgan simply didn’t want to communicate with her anymore; she thought this consort was a brainless fool who only knew how to eat vinegar out of jealousy.

Catherine’s eyes flashed with something; the tone of this girl made her quite displeased! She is a consort, after all!

Then, Catherine put down her teacup and stood up, saying with some authority, "Jocelyn Morgan, I warn you, I don’t care who you are, don’t get any ideas about my husband! Even if he’s on his deathbed, he is mine!"

"Please also warn your son, asking him to stay far away from me in the future," Jocelyn said directly, her lips parting slightly, "He’s already causing trouble for me. Also, your husband is the King, please respect his position and don’t slander him."

Before Catherine could speak, Jocelyn continued, "Consort, if I tell the King about our conversation today, do you think he would come looking for you?"

The woman’s expression changed when she heard these words.

Jocelyn smiled lightly, "Don’t worry, I won’t."

As soon as she finished speaking, both women stared at each other, feeling a sharp tension.

They just stared at each other for a full minute.

In the end, it was Jocelyn Morgan who spoke first, "If the consort has nothing else, then I’ll be leaving."

Catherine didn’t say anything more, her gaze just showed a hint of determination.

Watching the leaving figure, she really didn’t expect this girl to be quite strong, with a fearless attitude that seemed to come from her very bones.

Meanwhile, Taylor had returned to his palace, venting his emotions by throwing things, and the servants couldn’t persuade him to stop.

The palace was in a mess, and he felt wronged like a child.

This matter caused some noise in a small circle, and naturally, it reached Ian Shelby’s ears.

"What did you just say?" Ian Shelby asked gently.

In the courtyard, the two servants watering the flowers turned around in surprise, and upon seeing him, they quickly knelt, "Greetings, Prince!"

"Stand up," Ian graciously helped them, then asked again gently, "What were you saying about Prince Taylor?"

He wasn’t originally interested in Taylor’s matters, but he heard Jocelyn’s name.

Seeing Prince Louis wanted information rather than blaming them for not watering attentively,

so the two servants explained the whole story to him, although they were also just passing on hearsay, but it was fairly accurate, as the news came from the King’s palace.

"The King told Prince Taylor to get out and not to step into the palace again, and it was Duke Eden who sent him away."

"Later, Miss Morgan was also taken away by Captain Julie, presumably summoned by the consort."

Ian listened, ripples of worry arising within him.

"I understand, carry on with your work, thank you." Upon saying this, he turned and walked towards the King’s palace.

Ian felt very sorry, that he couldn’t protect her, his lips tightly pressed, and a deep color settled in his eyes, unconsciously quickening his pace.

As he walked, he saw Jocelyn in the distance, and Jocelyn, coming from another path, spotted him immediately.

Both were slightly stunned and slowed their pace across the ten or so meters between them.

Walking in the same direction, the two slowly came closer and closer...
