Eden and Arthur followed right behind the King; just from his breathing rhythm alone, it wasn’t hard to tell he was furious. It was that feeling right before a storm hits.
Hearing footsteps coming closer from afar, Gigi’s pen paused slightly. He lifted his gaze toward the door, and in no time at all, his father appeared in the doorway, leaning on his cane, looking stern and displeased.
Gigi froze for a second. Father and son locked eyes, and the King’s face was frighteningly dark, his eyes practically spitting fire!
"Gigi! What are you doing here?"
Every word was loaded with interrogation. The King strode up to the desk, glared at him hard, and slammed his cane against the floor, his eyes full of displeasure.
"Your Majesty..." The aura scared the attendant guard and servants so badly they didn’t even dare breathe; with a thud, they all fell to their knees.
Gigi was startled too. He hurriedly put down his fountain pen, closed his book, stood up, and stammered, "Father... I..." He had absolutely no idea what he’d done wrong.
The King’s pupils suddenly constricted. "Get out."
For a moment Gigi thought he’d misheard, but he quickly forced a smile and tried to explain, "Father, I’m here studying hard. Shouldn’t you be praising me? Why are you... why are you angry?"
He had never seen his father’s face like this before. It was like he’d swallowed dynamite.
"Move out of here immediately!" The King stared straight at his son, his dark eyes gloomy. "Now! And from now on you are not allowed to pester Jocelyn anymore!"
Why?
Why was his father this furious?
Jocelyn?
He called her so intimately, yet told his own son to get out?
Gigi couldn’t figure out where the problem lay.
At this moment, having heard the commotion outside, Jocelyn Morgan put down her fountain pen, quickly stood up, and opened the door—only to see the King, furious, pounding his cane as he roared at Prince Gigi.
Her chest tightened slightly, and she saw several servants kneeling on the floor. So this was... rage?
Eden and Arthur were supporting the King on either side, but they had no idea how to step in.
"Your Majesty..." Jocelyn Morgan greeted him, trembling, her heart instantly leaping into her throat.
Prince Gigi turned his eyes toward her. The moment he saw Jocelyn Morgan, his mood visibly eased a bit, and his resolve to pursue her only grew stronger.
Gigi still had that air of being in his rebellious phase. He walked around the chair and came to Jocelyn Morgan’s side.
While she was completely unprepared, he grabbed her shoulders in one swift move, then looked at the King. "Father, I like Jocelyn. I don’t understand why you want to stop me!"
"Are you insane?!" Jocelyn was scared out of her wits and instinctively shoved him away! She used quite a bit of force, pushing herself back two steps as well, nearly losing her balance.
She looked at him warily and said righteously, "Prince Gigi! If you didn’t understand what I’ve already told you, then I think you need to relearn reading comprehension!"
The King was enraged by his son as well! His son had blatantly ignored his words, and dared to treat Louis’s girlfriend with such disrespectful behavior!
"Eden!" The King forced down his inner fury and gave a direct order. "Get Prince Gigi out of here! He is not allowed to stay here for even half a second! And inform the guards! From now on he is forbidden to step foot in this place again!"
"Yes, Your Majesty." Eden stepped forward, picked up the schoolbag, started tidying the desk, and spoke gently, "Prince, I’ll escort you down."
Gigi didn’t dare stop him, but inside he was extremely upset!
He looked at Jocelyn Morgan, who clearly despised him, then at his furious father. He really couldn’t figure it out. "Father! Why?! I finally found a bit of motivation to study, and why are you killing my passion? I’m a grown man! Do I not even have the right to like someone?! Were you never young?!"
