Chapter 1168: 1168: Irrefutable

Little Fatty followed back somewhat dejectedly, but didn’t see Luo Yirui follow along. Turning around, he saw him still standing at the entrance of the corridor looking out, not knowing what he was keenly observing."Luo Yirui, let’s go!" Little Fatty said in a low voice.

Luo Yirui couldn’t find that figure again; it flashed too quickly in that moment, and he only felt that person looked a lot like Grandpa De San, but he wasn’t sure if it was really him.

Hearing Little Fatty’s words, he could only turn back and walk away. At this point, he had to tell his mother about it, even if she wouldn’t let him take any action, because he couldn’t be willful anymore.

He sighed in his heart. His father had told him to act within his means; he wondered if this counted. If they couldn’t continue exploring, it would feel like a pity.

Despite this thought, Luo Yirui did not change his mind; compared to life and limb, nothing else mattered.

The five of them quickly returned to where they came in from. Hou Baiyu and Fu Xuan Ge still followed the original route back because their rooms were quite far away, and climbing back carried too much risk.

Luo Yirui and the others, however, still went back the original way. Since dawn was breaking, Little Fatty did not linger. As he was leaving, he hesitated to speak but ultimately said nothing, only saying to talk about it during the day, and then he left.

The same went for Jing Yuansi.

Luo Yirui returned to his room, and all he could think about was the figure of Grandpa De San. Was it really him?

He suddenly left the small courtyard, only leaving a note that said "Don’t worry," but what exactly was he doing?

He hurried to the window, opened it, and saw that the sky was already lightening, but there was still no shadow of Black Coal Ball.

Luo Yirui knew that the corridor and window couldn’t hold Black Coal Ball back; the fact that it didn’t come back only meant that it wanted to stay there. As to why, Luo Yirui didn’t even want to think about it.

Not sleeping in the middle of the night was nothing, but the matter with Grandpa De San and the absence of Black Coal Ball left Luo Yirui looking a bit out of sorts, something Beisitian noticed when she brought him breakfast.

"Did something happen?" Beisitian asked.

Luo Yirui didn’t hesitate and told his mother everything that happened over the past two nights in detail.

Beisitian was incredibly shocked. This kid had done so many dangerous and scary things at night!

Seeing his mother’s face turn grim, Luo Yirui also realized he had been a bit reckless. But if he hadn’t explored, his mom or Uncle Xun would have had to, and there were places they couldn’t even get into. Besides, they were adults and too conspicuous.

Luo Yirui explained his thoughts and why he had come clean, but still, his mother’s expression did not improve. He knew she was truly angry but didn’t understand why; hadn’t she said she wouldn’t blame him as long as he was honest?

Luo Yirui didn’t know that for a parent, hearing about these things was terrifying enough to cause alarm. His mom didn’t care how capable he was, only about his safety.

Beisitian couldn’t find words to argue back, but she didn’t want to agree with Luo Yirui either. In her heart, she lamented that it was sometimes quite troublesome for a child to be so smart. He was just a few years old, yet acted with such precision that she couldn’t even find a reason to scold him; if he weren’t her son, she would have agreed with him!
