Chapter 1163: 1163: Beneath the Castle

This staircase seems endless. The three of them have been walking for over twenty minutes, yet haven’t reached the end. Apart from the slope being sometimes steep and sometimes gentle, there are basically no differences, making the trio unconsciously feel that there is no end, and they might be walking in circles. As they continued walking, even Little Fatty got scared. He reached out and felt Luo Yirui beside him, finally letting out a sigh of relief, and whispered, "Can you estimate where we are now?"

"I estimate that we’re now under the castle," Luo Yirui said.

The reason he felt uneasy and anxious was because he couldn’t guess the purpose of this passage, for whom it was built. There were only windows and no doors, and it was constructed at such a high place.

Too many doubts left him with no certainty in his heart.

Upon hearing that they’re under the castle, Little Fatty and Jing Yuansi were both astounded. Jing Yuansi couldn’t help but consider backing out.

"Why don’t we go back?" Jing Yuansi was somewhat frightened.

Little Fatty shook his head resolutely, "If we go back now, all the distance we’ve covered will be for nothing!"

Jing Yuansi sighed, agreeing inwardly, but wondered when this endless walking would end.

No matter what they encounter now, as long as they can get out of this staircase, it’s fine!

Luo Yirui finally decided to continue going down, at least to see what the end is.

"I’ll say it first, I only plan to see what the end is, if we’re going further, we need to bring some equipment. Going like this, the risk of encountering danger is high!"

Little Fatty thought about it and didn’t fuss, nodding and saying, "I’ll follow your lead."

Jing Yuansi was relieved, this was good.

With a decision made, the three continued down. After roughly two hundred meters, they suddenly stepped onto flat ground!

"The flashlight’s running out of battery," Jing Yuansi said.

This one uses batteries. Not expecting to be out this long, he hadn’t thought of bringing spare batteries or changing to new ones.

Right after Jing Yuansi spoke, the battery flickered and died.

In the darkness, the three instinctively moved closer together.

"Let’s hold hands; nobody lets go," Luo Yirui instructed.

Jing Yuansi took the lead, grabbing Luo Yirui’s hand, while Little Fatty grasped his other hand.

Luo Yirui held one each by hand, and they continued inward together.

He let Black Coal Ball lead ahead. Black Coal Ball didn’t need light to see things; if encountering danger or obstacles, it should alert them immediately.

After walking a little further, Luo Yirui found this inconvenient, thought for a moment, and decided they should walk in a single file, with the person behind holding onto the leading one’s clothes, ensuring no one let go or lagged.

Black Coal Ball walked ahead, occasionally turning its head, its ghostly glowing eyes showing the path to the trio.

The fifty-plus meter walk felt extremely long. Suddenly, Black Coal Ball stopped ahead, turned back to signal Luo Yirui, making him halt abruptly, and the ones behind bumped into him.

Little Fatty just wanted to ask what happened when he saw a point of light suddenly light up a little ahead, floating in midair.
