Chapter 1275: School Starts Again

Nangong Chen was a bit conflicted, caught between public and private matters, unsure of which side to choose. But when the company called again, Nangong Chen could no longer hesitate and obediently packed up his things to leave South City. Learning that Nangong Chen had left, Mu Qiancheng didn’t immediately halt his actions. He wanted to ensure Nangong Chen would have no chance to shower Jiang Xue with attention again.

Before leaving, Nangong Chen called Jiang Xue to tell her he was leaving South City. Jiang Xue was quite happy upon hearing this.

Even though Nangong Chen hadn’t done anything displeasing, Jiang Xue somehow always felt a bit uneasy around him.

Now that he was gone, Jiang Xue felt completely relaxed and said goodbye to Nangong Chen with a smile.

Nangong Chen’s departure did not have much of an impact on Jiang Xue. Whatever she needed to do, she continued to do.

Moreover, it wouldn’t be long before the school term started. Although she didn’t have to attend classes every day, she still needed to go for registration.

So, on the day of registration, she specifically took a day off to go to school for it.

After a two-month break, classmates were especially excited to see each other. Some close friends gathered to chat, but Jiang Xue, having no particularly close friends, seemed a bit lonely. Nonetheless, she didn’t mind. After the class meeting and receiving new books, she greeted the teacher and prepared to leave.

Yet, just as she was about to leave, her phone rang. Seeing it was Principal Huang calling, she immediately pressed the answer button.

"Jiang Xue, are you here for registration?" Principal Huang asked as soon as she picked up.

"Yes, I’m here. Do you need something from me, Principal?" Jiang Xue asked with a smile. She could understand why the principal called her in such a hurry, probably because of Mr. Huang.

After all, before the vacation, Mr. Huang had already planned to invite her for a meal, but she couldn’t make it due to timing. Now that Principal Huang called, it seemed she couldn’t dodge this meal.

Sure enough, Jiang Xue’s guess was spot on. As soon as Principal Huang knew Jiang Xue was at school, he promptly said, "Jiang Xue, don’t go back for lunch today. Just come to my house. The old man has been talking about you for days. If I hadn’t told him you probably hadn’t returned, he would’ve called you long ago."

Hearing Principal Huang say this, Jiang Xue had no choice but to agree, saying, "Alright, I’ll go visit the old man soon. I do miss him after all this time."

"Alright, alright, I’ll call him right away," Principal Huang said while hanging up the phone with Jiang Xue.

When Jiang Xue headed to the Huang residence with fruits in hand, Mr. Huang was already waiting in the living room. As soon as the doorbell rang, he came to open the door.

Seeing Jiang Xue, Mr. Huang gave her a mock glare and said, "Jiang Xue, have you forgotten about the old man these past two months?"

"What are you talking about, old man? How could I forget you?" Jiang Xue replied with a smile, placing the fruits she brought on a cabinet nearby.

Glancing at the items she brought, Mr. Huang grumbled, "Why bring something when you’re here to visit?"

"Old man, it’s a token of respect!" Jiang Xue replied, then walked over and linked arms with the old man, leading him to the sofa.

Seeing Jiang Xue take his arm so willingly, the old man was quite pleased. He smiled and walked with Jiang Xue to sit down on the sofa.
