“Bitch!” Shangguan Mu had never endured such humiliation. Now, seeing Princess Fuan’s smug expression, he wished he could leap up and scratch her face.

But as soon as he tried to rise, a sharp pain shot through his leg.

“Aren’t you supposed to be so fierce?” Princess Fuan, dressed in a maid’s clothes, still carried herself with unyielding pride.

Shangguan Mu glared at her, seething with rage.

“If you’ve got the guts, stand up and hit me,” she taunted, thinking of how her father wanted her to marry this vile man. Her heart burned with fury; the only man she ever wanted to marry was Prince An.

Not only had her father refused to help her, but he even expected her to serve this lunatic.

Princess Fuan was utterly unwilling.

“Guards!” Shangguan Mu was not the type to let Princess Fuan’s provocations slide.

He might be bedridden, but he still had people at his command.

“Your Highness!” Duan Zhi entered and saw a maidservant standing by his master’s side.

“Arrest this insolent woman!” Shangguan Mu’s lips curled into a sinister smile.

How dare this wretched woman look down on him?

She’d be begging for mercy soon enough.

“What do you think you’re doing? I am Princess Fuan!” Seeing Duan Zhi approach, fear crept into her heart.

Damn it—she hadn’t brought any guards with her.

After all, she was disguised as a servant; what servant keeps attendants at her side?

“Princess Fuan, huh?” Shangguan Mu stared at her, his eyes icy cold.

Now he remembered—Prince Lanhuai had come to him not long ago, suggesting that his daughter, Princess Fuan, would be sent to his bed.

At that thought, Shangguan Mu leaned closer to her and asked in a chilling whisper, “Your father sent you here to serve me. Didn’t he tell you how to serve properly?”

“You’re lying!” Princess Fuan panicked. How did he know what her father had told her?

“I’m not lying, and you know it. Since your father sent you here to amuse me, don’t you think you ought to earn your keep?” Shangguan Mu rested his hands lazily on the edge of the bed, his gaze full of ill intent.

“Stop looking at me with that disgusting expression!” Princess Fuan struggled to free herself from Duan Zhi’s grip but couldn’t break loose.

“Disgusting? Then let me show you what truly disgusting means.” A cryptic smile spread across Shangguan Mu’s lips.

“Duan Zhi, tie her up,” he ordered.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” Princess Fuan was overcome with regret. She should never have come today.

“Don’t worry, I will let you go,” Shangguan Mu said. He had never been a good man.

Lying in bed with a broken leg, he already felt suffocated enough.

How could he tolerate being cursed to his face?

If someone called him disgusting, wouldn’t it be a waste not to do something truly revolting?

“Let me go! You madman!” Princess Fuan was terrified now.

She saw madness in his eyes.

Remembering his words from earlier, she feared he might actually do something unspeakable to her.

At that thought, she collapsed to the floor in fright.

She began to crawl backward.

However, the way Shangguan Mu looked at Princess Fuan was like a cat toying with a mouse, as if he was not afraid she would escape.

Compared to the helplessness of Princess Fuan in the royal hunting grounds, a completely different scene was unfolding at Prince Lanhuai's mansion.

Before Prince Lanhuai sat a beautiful woman. Who else could it be but Shangguan Yun?

"My beauty, give me a smile," Prince Lanhuai said, gazing at the lovely woman before him. He had brought her back a few days ago, yet she had not spoken a single word to him.

If not for the fact that she had spoken to him on the day he brought her back, Prince Lanhuai would have suspected that this beauty was mute.

"Didn't you say you would take me to find my brother?" Shangguan Yun had grown terribly annoyed by this man over the past two days.

She had never expected to be tricked by him. Back then, after leaving the Qingyu Studio and unable to find her way back, this man had offered to escort her home.

Instead, he had brought her to this place.

When she tried to leave, the people here refused to let her go.

At that moment, Shangguan Yun cursed Shangguan Mu a thousand times in her heart.

That damned idiot—he could have at least sent her back before disappearing on his own. Now, without A Nan by her side, she was stranded in the capital of the Lanuo Kingdom, completely unfamiliar with the land.

Worst of all, she had been stuck in this so-called prince's mansion for several days, and that useless Shangguan Mu still hadn't come looking for her.

She was beginning to wonder if Shangguan Mu had been killed.

"Find them? Of course, I will. But, my beauty, you should at least tell me where your brother is, shouldn't you?" Prince Lanhuai said with a perfunctory tone.

"Will you truly help me find my brother?" Shangguan Yun felt extremely uncomfortable under this old man's lecherous gaze.

If he hadn't refused to let her leave, she would not have wanted to deal with him at all.

"Find him? Of course I will!" Prince Lanhuai was overjoyed that Shangguan Yun was willing to talk to him.

As for the beauty's brother—naturally, he would find him. After all, if he didn't locate her family, how could he propose to her?

Thinking of this, Prince Lanhuai's mind began to wander with restless thoughts about Shangguan Yun.

"Then take me out now to look for him." Shangguan Yun finished speaking, stood up, and began walking toward the door.

"Not so fast, not so fast," Prince Lanhuai said hastily, reaching out to grab Shangguan Yun's hand.

"Let go," Shangguan Yun said, her voice filled with disgust.

"My beauty, if we're going to find your brother, shouldn't we at least eat something? Otherwise, if your brother learns that I treated you poorly, he would certainly be displeased," Prince Lanhuai said, picking up the bowl of porridge from the table and holding it out to Shangguan Yun.

Shangguan Yun did not want to take the porridge from Prince Lanhuai, but thinking it might help her escape this dreadful place, she accepted it, took a few small sips, set it down, and then asked coldly, "Can we go out now?"

"Ah, ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍yes, yes, we can!" A smile filled Prince Lanhuai's eyes. Seeing that the beauty had eaten what he offered, he felt immensely pleased.

As for actually finding her brother—once they went out, he would just make a few symbolic turns and then claim that he couldn't find the person. That would suffice.

Prince Lanhuai had never seen Shangguan Yun in the capital before, so he assumed she was just some outsider who had come to seek refuge with relatives.

If she had been a noble lady from a prestigious family in the capital, he would not have dared to act so boldly. But a stranger? He figured his reputation alone could likely intimidate her into submission.

Thinking of this, Prince Lanhuai eagerly led Shangguan Yun out of the residence.

Once outside the Prince Lanhuai Manor, Shangguan Yun turned back to glance at the mansion, silently resolving that as soon as she returned to her lodgings, she would have someone come and smash this dilapidated manor to pieces!

She, Shangguan Yun, was not one to tolerate a loss.
