Chapter 1235: 645: Extra: The Little White Rabbit Invites the Wolf In 4_2

Aunt PA said, "When General Laurence first arrived, all the reporters surrounded him, asking about your relationship with Mr. Robinson... General Laurence didn’t say a thing, just told Robin to take note of the media. Robin said he would later charge them with trespassing and malicious invasion of privacy. Maybe the reporters got scared, and they all quickly slipped away..."Alice Robinson once again fell into prolonged silence.

Aunt PA added, "Miss, to be honest, General Laurence is truly a good person... With the news causing such a stir, people all over the world, besides focusing on you and Mr. Robinson, are also watching General Laurence as a joke. Yet, faced with so many reporters, General Laurence wasn’t fazed. He continued to protect you, leaving the media without anything to write."

Alice Robinson stared unblinking at the white ceiling, slowly speaking, "Aunt PA, please leave... I want to be alone for a while."

"Alright, Miss... If you’re tired, get some sleep, don’t overthink."

"Okay."

Alice Robinson wearily leaned on the sofa, her eyelids heavy and closed.

The room was so quiet that even a pin drop could be heard, yet the vibrating phone suddenly broke the silence.

Alice Robinson reached for the phone with her eyes closed, slowly opening her eyes to look at the familiar number flashing on the screen.

She let the phone ring for a long time before pressing the answer button and bringing the phone to her ear.

"Alice."

Answering his call, countless feelings of guilt towards Claud Laurence surged within her, yet she couldn’t bring herself to reject his call once more.

However, she didn’t respond to him.

"I saw the news. I know this must be causing you a great deal of trouble. I’ve already sent someone to handle this matter... If you’re currently troubled by this, take it easy. Trust that I will resolve this for you."

Alice Robinson struggled to let out, "I don’t want your help. Didn’t I tell you not to call me again?"

He remained silent on the other end for a long time.

Although she coldly responded to him, she didn’t end the call outright.

Their faint breathing was heard on the phone.

After a lengthy silence, he finally spoke, "There’s such a great distance between us, what can I do... I just want to care for you."

His low voice was almost pained, gentle, without a hint of fluctuation.

Her heart felt like it was being wrenched heavily.

He contemplated for a long time before speaking again, "Not being together doesn’t mean we have to be strangers. Of course, if you think my calls affect your relationship with Claud Laurence, I can stop calling you, but I won’t stop caring for you."

"What’s wrong? Why does your voice sound so hoarse?" Alice Robinson finally noticed the abnormality in his somber tone.

He usually spoke in a low tone, but it seemed different now, like the raspy voice after drinking or smoking heavily.

"It’s nothing... I’m not bothering you anymore, goodbye."

She wanted to say more, but his breath was no longer on the other end of the phone.

She hesitated, placing the phone down, and stared for a long time at his familiar number on the screen.

Alice Robinson got up early the next day, personally sending Rachel to kindergarten.

No reporters were blocking the villa gate anymore, nor were they waiting outside the kindergarten; Alice Robinson could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Andie called to tell her there were no reporters outside the company either, informing her she could return to work.

The matter seemed temporarily settled, but the topic remained in people’s discussions during leisure times.

Alice Robinson was still afraid to go to the company, fearing the reporters might reappear from some corner when she least expected it, as she couldn’t answer their questions.

She instructed Andie to let the company’s executives handle the business for now, deciding to stay in and be a recluse for two more days.

The experienced driver saw Alice Robinson’s complexion still wasn’t good, soothing her, "Miss, this matter is finally over, don’t overthink it, take these days to rest well at home!"

Alice Robinson nodded slightly with her eyes closed.

The driver steered the car into the Robinson villa, stopping by the fountain in the garden.

Alice Robinson exhaled, getting out of the car.

"Miss."

Aunt PA came running out of the villa with joy in her stride.

Alice Robinson paused, unused to seeing Aunt PA’s cheerful expression.

Aunt PA joyfully said, "Two esteemed guests have arrived at the house?"

"Esteemed guests?"

Seeing Christine Quinn and Mrs. Geoffrey seated on the sofa, Alice Robinson’s face lit up with happiness, "Mrs. Geoffrey, Christine."

Christine Quinn hurried to Alice Robinson’s side, giving her a hug, "Long time no see."

Alice Robinson couldn’t contain her joy, nodding vigorously.

"Alice, come over and sit..." Mrs. Geoffrey waved at Alice Robinson.

Alice Robinson and Christine Quinn walked over to Mrs. Geoffrey and sat on the sofa.

Excited, Alice Robinson asked, "Mrs. Geoffrey, how come you and Christine are in Paris?"

Mrs. Geoffrey teased, "Does Alice not welcome Mrs. Geoffrey?"

Alice Robinson quickly shook her hand, "No, no..." She sat beside Mrs. Geoffrey, warmly linking arms, "I do welcome you, I’m just so happy to see you."

Mrs. Geoffrey lovingly laughed, "Just teasing, look at how tense you are."

Alice Robinson smiled sweetly in response.

Christine Quinn said, "You know, my mom’s spinal issues have been persistent and nothing can treat it in the U.S., so I brought her back to T City to consult old Chinese doctors..."

"Mrs. Geoffrey, are you feeling better now?"

Mrs. Geoffrey patted Alice Robinson’s hand, "Don’t worry, I’m fine... Old Chinese medicine is still effective, the acupuncture sessions have improved my spine pain a lot."

"That’s good to hear..."

Christine Quinn laughed, "Oversky and Howard Geoffrey are busy with projects in Germany, Becca is at home taking care of the four kids, so I was the only one free to bring mom to T City... While there, we saw news about you and Chester Robinson, and mom said to come to France to see you, since France and Germany are close, we can have Oversky fly to Germany to pick us up later."

Alice Robinson joked, "Even you guys saw the news."

Christine Quinn teased, "With such big news, I doubt anyone doesn’t know it by now."

Alice Robinson sighed in frustration, "I don’t know how it became such news... Until yesterday, my home, company, and Rachel’s kindergarten were all blocked with reporters, they only dispersed today."
