While she was sipping her porridge, she inadvertently saw him outside the window. He hesitated for a moment and then walked into the ward.

The nurse saw him and stood up respectfully, addressing him.

He sat at the bedside and gently asked her, "Is the porridge to your taste?"

Alice nodded.

The nurse smiled, "Mr. Robinson, rest assured, Miss Robinson has had quite a bit of porridge and is feeling much better... The doctor said Miss Robinson can be discharged after being observed at the hospital for an afternoon if there are no signs of the fever returning."

Chester softly said, "Hmm."

The nurse, being discreet, found an excuse to leave the ward.

Alice looked at Chester, wondering why his dark eyes seemed so dim and deep.

Chester asked with concern, "Do you feel any weakness anywhere now?"

Alice shook her head, "I ate a bit, it’s much better."

Chester appeared visibly relieved and spoke in a deep voice, "I’ve already asked to have Claud Laurence contacted to come pick you up... But coming from Germany or France will take some time. There are no good hotels here, so stay on the island one more night, and Claud should be here by tomorrow morning. You can leave with him then!"

After observing for an afternoon, the doctor said Alice could be discharged.

Outside the ward, Keith Antony addressed Alice, who still seemed a bit frail, "Miss Alice, let me assist you!"

Alice gave a gentle smile to Keith, showing no peculiarities, "I’m fine, I can walk by myself."

Keith nodded, "The car is already parked at the hospital entrance, let’s go!"

Alice finally noticed Keith’s gaze and asked, "Assistant Antony, is there anything you want to ask me?"

This question left Alice silent for a moment, then she answered, "I’ve already started with Claud Laurence."

Keith frowned slightly, "I don’t believe you can truly let go of the boss."

Alice gazed into the distance and calmly said, "From the moment I chose to be with Claud Laurence, my world only included Claud."

Keith responded, "Even if you say you’ve let go of the boss, have you truly let go of him in your heart?"

"Keith, let’s not say these things anymore. Let the past be the past."

Keith moved in front of Alice, urgently saying, "Miss Alice, if your heart still holds the boss, please give him another chance... The boss cares about you. You’ve seen how he cherished you. He leaned back in the seat, his handsome features as indifferent as ever, seemingly lost in thought.

Alice bent to step inside the car and sat down beside him.

She thought he was deep in thought, and unexpectedly, as soon as she got in, he spoke, "I’m sorry, I didn’t accompany you this afternoon."

Alice shook her head slightly, "It’s alright."

Chester said nothing more and instructed the driver to drive.

The car interior was enveloped in silence for a long time. Just when Alice thought they would continue in silence, he was the first to break it, "Why did you never tell me all this while?"
