Chester explained seriously, his voice slightly hoarse, "Whether you believe it or not, I have come to terms with my feelings. I know the person who has occupied my heart all along is not Becca.""I don’t want to hear you say these things," Alice replied directly.

Chester wasn’t angry and changed the subject according to her mood, "Come on, let’s go to the island."

Alice asked in confusion, "Why is it just the two of us? Where is everyone else?"

Chester laughed, "In such a romantic place, shouldn’t it just be the two of us?"

Two people... two people...

For some reason, she felt there was an element of "danger" in his words.

She knew how calculative he could be, and she definitely shouldn’t get too close to him.

Chester seemed to see through Alice’s thoughts. The smile on his lips didn’t fade, "Are you worried I might do something to you?"

Alice glared at him without denying it.

Chester laughed out loud, "Relax, I promise not to force you, and I won’t. Besides, there are servants on the island who keep watch; it’s not just the two of us."

Alice was embarrassed, her face turned red awkwardly. Damn it, he deliberately said it like that, making her think off course...

Chester admired Alice’s blushing face, his curved lips hinting at a bit of wickedness.

Alice turned away in shame.

Chester hurriedly jumped onto the pier, caught up with her, and grabbed her wrist, "What’s wrong?"

Alice shook off Chester’s wrist and said coldly, "I’m not going to the island with you."

Chester moved in front of Alice, he was tall, his breath brushed her face. He looked down at her slightly red face, with a faint smile hanging on his handsome face, and asked, "You’re not really afraid I’d do something to you, are you?"

Alice hadn’t had the chance to say anything when Chester continued, "Or are you expecting something to happen between us on the island?" He smiled wickedly, clearly teasing her.

Alice was both embarrassed and angry, "You..."

Chester caught Alice’s fists meant to punch him and gently coaxed, "Alright, just teasing you... Since I’m going to use this week to win your heart back, why would I resort to such tacky means?"

Alice angrily withdrew her hands and retorted, "Although I agreed to spend a week with you, that doesn’t mean you can take me anywhere."

Chester looked deeply at her and said, "The most important reason I brought you to Foam Island is because it’s quiet enough. I hope we can spend a few days together without distractions."

His gaze was earnest and sincere. Though she turned her face away, she didn’t refuse aloud.

Chester added, "We’ll just stay for a week, and after that week, I won’t obstruct your freedom."

Alice finally nodded.

Chester smiled slightly and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, "Let’s go!"

Still resisting Chester, Alice shrugged him off and walked towards the yacht by herself, ignoring his offered hand, and carefully jumped onto the yacht.

Alice didn’t know Chester could even operate a yacht.

When the yacht sped across the sea, the splashing water caught the last reflection of the sun’s glow, making the spray glimmer golden.

She sat on the yacht while he steered against the wind, which tousled his hair slightly, adding a hint of unruliness beneath his usual aloofness and precision. The white casual wear he donned danced in the wind, making him look particularly youthful.

This scene couldn’t help but remind her of the year he lay in a coma on the hospital bed...

How she wished he could be as spirited as he was at this moment back then.

"What are you thinking about?" Chester’s voice interrupted Alice’s thoughts.

Alice shook her head without answering. Was she going to tell him she was thinking about him?

"We’ll be there soon."

"Hmm."

Jumping off the yacht, Alice looked at the island ahead.

Even though it was already dark, she could vaguely see that the island was large, with several white buildings and coconut trees by the beach. It must be a beautiful place during the day, but...

Alice turned to inquire Chester, who was tying the yacht to a pillar, "Why aren’t there any lights on the island?"

Chester also showed a look of confusion, "Are there none?"

Alice nodded.

Chester scanned the surroundings and said, "Could it be that the island doesn’t have electricity?"

"Didn’t you say there are servants on the island?"

"Yes."

"Then why is there no electricity?"

"Don’t worry, let me call Howard Geoffrey and find out."

"Okay."

While Chester made the call, Alice looked around.

For some reason, the coconut tree beach, which had felt romantic earlier, now seemed empty and somewhat frightening.

Initially, keeping her distance from Chester, Alice couldn’t help but move closer to him and overheard his conversation with Howard Geoffrey.

"What? The island doesn’t have power? How is that possible... Ah? The servants only come to the island during the day?"

Alice furrowed her brows.

Chester finished the call and looked at Alice helplessly, "Sorry, we might have to make do. Howard Geoffrey said there’s no power on the island and the servants only work during the day."

"How could it be?" Alice mumbled, "Becca never told me the island didn’t have power!"

"Howard Geoffrey told me they usually light bonfires at night and sleep with the fireplace wood burning."

Alice suddenly grabbed Chester’s sleeve, "There’s no power. Let’s go back."

Chester looked at Alice’s fearful expression as she tightly held onto his clothes and couldn’t help but laugh, "You’re all grown up, but you’re still afraid of the dark?"

"I... I’m not afraid of the dark..." Alice quickly let go of Chester’s sleeve, "I’m just worried the island isn’t safe at night. Think about it, if there were dangerous animals roaming the large island at night, what would happen?"

Chester chuckled, "Don’t worry, this isn’t an uninhabited island. Howard Geoffrey sets aside time every year to vacation here, there are definitely no dangerous animals unless you’re talking about the colorful and cute tropical fish."

Alice blushed with embarrassment.

Chester had already started walking, "Let’s go... "

Alice was a bit scared and hurriedly caught up with Chester, saying, "I don’t want to stay here."
