Chapter 598: The Approach

4 min read

“Should I look for another one? Raging Bulls like this one can be very bad news... Easily way worse than the imitator in most scenarios. I never met one personally, but I heard that they tamed the irrational wrath through enlightenment, so this thing might have acquired the ability to cultivate… I heard that the bestial cultivation technique can be extracted from the corpse by someone competent, though”Linfeng stayed quiet, thinking about it for a few moments.

‘System, we have been using the terms interchangeably… But is there a difference between an Enraged Bull and a Raging Bull? Am I looking at the right creature?’

‘Huh… So… Does this mean that a Raging Bull’s blood is better than an Enraged Bull’s?’

‘How so? Wouldn’t it have the same problem as a regular Raging Bull?’

‘Alright… How can I defeat this beast if it is so powerful, though?’

‘Don’t bulls and cows sleep while standing up, though?’

Linfeng nodded and shared his idea with Mala and Yen'mila. Mala was a bit worried hearing how dangerous the beast actually was, while Yen'mila seemed more excited than anything.

‘She’s definitely thinking about how she could get it to mount her… System, am I really safe bedding this woman? I won’t get any disease or anything, right?’

‘Right… I hope you aren’t wrong’

Time passed uneventfully as the trio remained hidden whilst following the Raging Bull around. Due to their usually volatile nature, Raging Bulls were solitary, a trait this one seemed to have retained despite taming The Rage within its body.

Most of the beast’s day was spent grazing and walking around what Linfeng assumed was its very own territory, only to eventually reach an unusual tree as the sun was beginning to set.

Its roots were thicker than Linfeng’s body was wide, and they supported the entire weight of the tree. The trunk didn’t actually touch the ground, creating an alcove of some sort. The many roots only left a single passage wide enough for the bull to get in from, and a few other passages that smaller creatures could potentially squeeze in through.

It was an odd sight that fascinated the plant cultivator the most in the ground.

“What a peculiar tree… It is of the same species as the rest, yet it grew so much stronger, and in such an odd way…”

Yen'mila extended her senses, investigating the area.

“Mmh… I think this tree used to grow from something such as a massive energy crystal, maybe a pile of energy crystals? Whatever it was, it nourished the tree and led it to grow in such a manner”

It seemed like there used to be a natural treasure that was taken away. Yet, despite this, the tree had remained standing, firm and strong enough to keep on living despite the unusual circumstances it was in.

Eventually, the enlightened Raging Bull had come to claim the space underneath this tree as a resting place. A spot safer than the outside... It concealed its nody well enough… Not that it was afraid of much in this part of the forest.

The other beasts and monsters with the ability to challenge it smartly chose not to. The big players of this slice of nature nestled amidst the mountain borders of Leynlorn... All had territories they were satisfied with.

They had no incentive to go fight a creature as dangerous as this Raging Bull. Hence, the area surrounding the wild bovine’s resting spot was quiet. Other inhabitants of the woods knew to steer clear of the area.

This was good for Linfeng. It meant that he wouldn’t be interrupted by a third party, and also meant that his target had grown used to being left alone. It probably wasn’t even considering the possibility of a surprise attack–An idea that Linfeng felt was reinforced by how quickly it fell asleep, clearly unbothered.

“Alright, you two keep your distances in case things go south, alright?”

“Of course…”

“Aren’t you so virile when you take charge like this~?”

He grabbed a pointy piece of wood Yen'mila conjured and began silently approaching the Raging Bull. Even if it could only endure drastic amounts of force when charging, it would nonetheless be extremely resistant to blunt force trauma or even torsion damage. As such, Linfeng was going to stab it.

‘Let’s do it’
