Chapter 8: School starts

Chapter 7 - School starts(Oak POV)

Oak was currently thinking of how he could get Giovanni's son into his school without anyone suspecting something. Over all the years that he had lived in Pallet Town no other children from other regions or towns had ever come to the school in Pallet.

But that gave him an idea, 'If I let other children from other regions and towns, nobody would suspect Silver specifically. I should ask my colleagues in other regions to recommend some children to join my school.'

Oak then went over to his Computer and contacted other professors from other regions, and some friends from other towns to recommend a new batch of students to join Oak's school.

(Ash POV)

(A few months later)

'After a few months of training there are two main things of note that have happened, I have been getting better in sensing, but I haven't mastered it yet, I could have but Sir Aaron told me to progress slowly otherwise I might get corrupted and I don't want that, no matter I don't have a time limit anymore so I can take as much time as I need.'

'Secondly, Professor Oak's school is going to start this coming Monday. I will finally get to learn from the man himself. So I need to be ready, there's no telling what else is different so I will need to learn as much as I can. But first, more training,'

(On Monday)

"Ash come downstairs, you need to go to class you can't sleep-in, in on the first day of school," Dela said trying to get Ash to get ready.



"I'm already up and ready, but me personally I would never be caught sleeping in," Ash yelled as he ran down the stairs.

"Well good to know you are as energetic as always, any way do you want me to walk you to school," Dela said while smiling.

Ash looked a little dumbfounded, "Seriously, it is literally down the corner, it's fine I can go alone, thank you anyway" Ash said as he started walking out the door "Bye."

Dela said, "By Ash, love you"

As Ash walked out of his house he noticed Gary was also leaving his house to get to school as well, so he approached.

"Hey Gary, you are walking to school alone too," Ash said to get Gary's attention.

Looking at Ash, Gary said, "Oh hey Ash, yah Daisy went off to her classes earlier and it's literally down the corner" He said looking at the School building was probably less than a block away.

They started walking together to get to school but then Gary brought up something interesting.

"Hey, have you heard that apparently, Gramps is letting other kids from other towns and regions join his school?"

That made Ash genuinely confused, "What? Isn't the fact that no one but people from Pallet and those recommended by Oak himself allowed to even come into Pallet, much less to study under him."

Gary just shrugged, "Apparently he wants to allow others the same opportunities or something, so he asked his friends to recommend some kids to join us."

As Ash heard that he thought, 'That is concerning, what made Oak let others in, people have tried and failed to bribe him so what could be his reasoning for letting others in.' He thought as he and Gary arrived at Professor Oak's school.

As they came in they looked at a large building and moved to the Auditorium, where they saw Oak on the stage along with a lot of other kids, more kids than normally live in Pallet. As they sat down due to the magic of plot convenience Oak started.

"Hello everyone, welcome to my school. As you all may know I am Professor Oak, but you may know me as the Pokemon professor, all of you are here for your reasons and some of you may be confused, but worry not, I have chosen to allow my colleagues to recommend students from other regions to join, as to see if there may be a positive effect to a more diverse school." Oak said, to some students' excitement and some students' dismay.

'Right, and Team Rocket just wants to expand our knowledge about Pokemon and make mermaid Pokemon, they don't want a weapon of mass destruction. Yeah, I don't believe that for a second, if that was his goal he had nearly 20 years to do that. So what is the real reason?'

"So to allow all of you to get to know each other, everyone, to come up and announce themselves. Say your preferred name and what you want to be. We'll start with people from Pallet and then we'll go with everyone else and we can go alphabetically. No need to be afraid we are all friends."

'Well, I guess that means I am up first.' As Ash got up to get to the stage the line of those from Pallet formed behind him.

"Hello, you all can call me Ash, and I want to be a Pokemon trainer."

"Hey, I'm Gary Oak and I will be a Pokemon master"

"Hello you can call me Green I want to become a Pokemon trainer"

...

...

...

...

...

As those from Pallet finished, he noticed only he, Gary, and Green want to be Pokemon trainers.

"Thank you, everyone, now for everyone else, come up and say your preferred name where you come from, and what you want to be," Oak said trying to let others feel welcomed as well.

As he said that some children came up on stage, there were a few unfamiliar faces but there were also some faces he recognized.
