Chapter 2706: Personally Arriving

6 min read

"King, what did you see?"An old man with a stooped posture approached the elder beside him.

This glowing-eyed elder was dressed in luxurious clothes.

Though traces of soil were visible, they had not faded or eroded over countless years.

However, the situation of the bent elderly man who asked the question was completely different.

He wore tattered clothes, and even while speaking, he remained hunched.

"Old third Fairbanks, I saw someone."

The elder withdrew the light from his eyes, pointing to the sky: "Riding the clouds and mist! What a marvelous thing!"

"King, didn’t you take it down?"

Old third Fairbanks bent his back, his demeanor extremely respectful.

It was obvious he had undergone strict training.

Moreover, the one he served held high status!

"Why would I take it down?"

The elder chuckled softly and pointed at old third Fairbanks: "We Southern-sky people never make deals that lose money! Ever since everyone agreed to lie dormant and wait for the crown to appear, I have calculated everything."

"King. What is different about this person?" Old third Fairbanks raised his head; what he could see was very limited.

Or rather, he couldn’t see anything at all.

"It’s the person with the crown." The Southern-sky person clasped his hands behind his back, smiling: "A young man, appearing very youthful. Sometimes, when a valuable object falls into one’s hands but you don’t have the ability, it becomes a disaster."

"Crown?" Old third Fairbanks couldn’t help but lift his head, looking at the sky.

Even though he couldn’t see anything.

"Yes! The crown, the very one we’ve always pursued... the crown!" The Southern-sky person smiled and said: "Who would have thought a youth would gain such an opportunity."

"You’ve pursued it for so many years, why not kill him and take the crown?" Old third Fairbanks spoke excitedly: "Congratulations, King!"

"Why rush." The Southern-sky person snorted coldly: "To achieve great things, one must endure. What is endurance?"

"Even if this crown is right in front of me, I would still send it away! Otherwise, it’s just an experience, in the end, this crown along with my head would be taken by others."

He smiled wryly: "A man holding a treasure incurs the crime."

"But... such a good opportunity is right before us, isn’t it a pity to miss it?"

Upon hearing the crown, even old third Fairbanks couldn’t control his excitement.

The crown!

Back then, the Southern-sky person abandoned everything in pursuit of this crown.

And, he only brought along old third Fairbanks!

The master and servant pair don’t know how many years they have slept, all for the sake of this crown!

With the crown, the secrets can be uncovered, and one can truly become the Nine Provinces King.

It is rumored that the Nine Provinces King can communicate with the gods.

It’s a throne granted by the deities.

Every Nine Provinces King, upon obtaining the crown, would comprehend God’s technique!

The distinction between gods and humans is vast.

So vast that many can’t understand it.

The later Nine Provinces Kings lacking the crown, were merely self-proclaimed.

Though in legal terms, they could use the Nine Provinces Authority King Sword to justify their position.

But in terms of capability, they indeed lacked it.

The last historically recorded Nine Provinces King was at Seven Gem Slope.

A woman.

A woman who could stir up such a storm!

Killed so many people.

Surely she had something extraordinary.

Back then, the elites of Nine Provinces assembled a grand lineup but still, in action, they were mostly slain by Seven Gem Slope.

Eventually, several True Monarchs and Emperors personally came forward, barely managing to kill Seven Gem Slope.

Since then, no matter which generation of Nine Provinces King, none have replicated the glory of Seven Gem Slope.

They even suspected Seven Gem Slope might have hidden the crown.

But Seven Gem Slope was dead, they searched the Nine Provinces King’s mansion, yet found no trace.

Hence they sought elsewhere.

Yet tens of thousands of years have passed.

The crown remains elusive.

During this period, people like the Southern-sky became more numerous.

The lure of the crown is immense.

Now the crown is right before us, isn’t it a pity not to take it?

Old third Fairbanks didn’t understand, he believed if it were him, he would definitely take it.

Not taking what’s within reach allows others to take it away.

"Such a pity." Old third Fairbanks couldn’t help but sigh.

"Don’t rush, so many desire the crown; whoever grabs it first, dies first! This truth, you will never understand." The Southern-sky person stepped on flat ground.

Steps spanning hundred meters!

"Let’s go, have a look. I’m eager to know who gets eliminated first."

As he spoke, he took several steps, his pace accelerating!

...

The plane landed slowly in the southeast territory.

"Ahead is Dirk Ridge’s domain. Currently, according to Miss Nelson’s management policy, the southeast is divided into many smaller regions."

Upon disembarking the plane, someone approached, bowing respectfully to Julius Reed.

"Continue speaking." Julius Reed nodded, gesturing for the man to finish his words.

"Under Miss Nelson’s planning." The man receiving them explained: "Each Grandmaster has their own territory. Though small, these places are under Grandmaster’s jurisdiction; they can establish companies and conduct business. Moreover, they don’t need to remit much money."

"However, one point is that the local Grandmaster must maintain public security. If they poorly manage and affect the locals’ lives, they will be directly apprehended and charged."

The man pointed to the distant tall building: "Within a ten-kilometer radius lies Dirk Ridge’s domain. That building is his office tower."

"Alright, I’ve understood."

Julius Reed stared at that tall building, a feeling of unease settled in.

"Tell Nelson to hide and not show up."

After speaking, he stepped toward the building.

"Understood!"

The man immediately took out his phone, conveying Julius Reed’s words to Nelson’s bodyguard without alteration.

After notifying, he joined Julius Reed.

The entourage was grand, yet upon reaching the city center, Julius Reed arranged for Seven Gem Slope to take Nine Realms True Monarch and Jessica to a café for coffee.

He ventured alone toward the building.

Seven Gem Slope originally objected.

But Julius Reed’s stance was firm; she had no choice but to comply.

On the streets, only Julius Reed and the man accompanying him.

Step by step, they headed toward the building.

"Has there been an issue here before?" Julius Reed asked.

"Dirk Ridge is merely one among the Grandmasters; if not for trouble, we probably wouldn’t know his name."

The man scratched his head: "But this time, he anomalously killed our people and arranged for an assassination."

"Then there’s definitely an issue."

Upon reaching the building’s base, Julius Reed saw a group coming and going.

They carried computers and some documents.

Julius Reed utilized God’s eye and saw the building was deserted.

Only the very top office had occupants.

To avoid alerting, he promptly withdrew his gaze.

Passing beside one of the building’s personnel, he glanced at what they had.

That paper read, ’How to quickly defame Julius Reed’.
