When Sophie Wilson arrived at the gallery with a large pile of snacks and drinks, everyone in the gallery was overjoyed.
"Sophie’s here?"
"Oh wow, it’s from that place. It’s my favorite!"
"Eat, eat, eat, that’s all you know how to do."
The staff at the gallery were all young people, and they were in a lively phase, so they gathered around Sophie Wilson, chattering as they took everything from her hands.
"Sophie." Clarissa Taylor heard the commotion and came over, smiling as she took Sophie’s hand. "Why did you come over today?"
"Just missed you, Mom." Sophie Wilson leaned against Clarissa Taylor with a grin. "And I wanted to soak up some art culture while I’m at it!"
Clarissa couldn’t help but laugh; she had given up hope on her husband and daughter’s artistic talents.
The two of them really were father and daughter, identical in their complete lack of talent.
"Come on, to the office." Clarissa led Sophie to the office by the hand.
They sat down and chatted for only a short while before Sophie frowned and asked, "Mom, you’re not in a good mood, are you?"
Although it was phrased as a question, Sophie spoke with absolute certainty.
Clarissa pressed her fingertips to her brow and smiled wryly, "You noticed, didn’t you?"
She was becoming increasingly convinced that her daughter was quite something; otherwise, at her age, how could her daughter so easily see through her hidden emotions?
"Mom, who upset you?" Sophie’s voice took on a cold edge.
No way was she going to let anyone bully her mom!
"It wasn’t exactly anyone upsetting me. I just heard some things that were kind of disgusting." Clarissa smiled bitterly, "I have a lot of those wives and ladies from households coming to the gallery, and lately, they’ve been coming by every now and then to persuade me..."
"To reconcile with Emerie Wilson, right?" Sophie didn’t even wait for Clarissa to finish before guessing what it was about.
"Emerie Wilson, that brain is just..." Clarissa didn’t even know how to put it, "She got sweet-talked by Benjamin Walton and went back, yet she doesn’t even realize she’s being used, it’s just..."
"Her brain’s not the issue." Sophie sneered. "Emerie Wilson is the smartest one of all."
Clarissa looked at Sophie in surprise, full of confusion.
"Honestly, Emerie Wilson is just selfish. She’s not stupid. She can definitely tell that Benjamin is using her. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so decisive in divorcing him back then."
"Benjamin was out there finding women and having illegitimate children, which she couldn’t tolerate. That was because Benjamin made her uncomfortable. Returning to the Wilson Clan, where her parents coddle and spoil her, she can still be their little princess."
"But later, things happened that changed her father’s attitude. Now, she knows that only Benjamin can continue to pamper her, so she went back to him."
After Sophie finished speaking, Clarissa suddenly understood. However, once she realized, she felt chills and rubbed her arms in disbelief, sighing, "Emerie Wilson is really selfish and cold-blooded to this extent?"
"Of course." Sophie sneered. "Even a little kid knows whether they’re being used. She knows very well that Benjamin wronged her, even having an illegitimate child, and yet she went back. You really think she’s that simple-minded?"
"All these years, she’s just been exploiting her heart condition, always relying on her parents."
