Nevertheless, no matter how things went, everyone still had a delightful lunch.
While Sophie Wilson was in the kitchen, Jacob Smith looked at Charles Seymour with admiration, giving him a thumbs up.
To be honest, the portions of those two dishes weren’t much, but he only took a few bites, leaving the rest for Charles Seymour.
"How did you manage to eat all that?" Jacob Smith asked, puzzled.
Charles Seymour glanced over with a cool look, not answering but countering, "Was that food?"
Jacob Smith was shocked, had all his years of learning been in vain?
He couldn’t even recognize Chinese cuisine anymore?
Before Jacob Smith could voice his surprise, he heard Charles Seymour’s clear voice laced with unabashed pride, "That’s all Sophie’s love for me."
Jacob Smith: "..."
Was this guy crazy?
Charles Seymour didn’t care whether others were stunned or not; as the hospitable host, since there were visitors at home, he certainly had to keep them entertained.
Sophie Wilson naturally had no issue with his approach, but Jacob Smith was already visualizing Charles Seymour as a villain, filled with steel pins.
Puncture this shameless villain!
Because of Mr. Nelson’s arrival, it made some pleased and others worried.
Later that evening, Charles Seymour received a phone call: "Mm, okay, got it. I’ll talk to Sophie about it."
After hanging up the call, Charles Seymour went to find Sophie Wilson in the room: "Old Mr. Wilson wants to invite our family for a meal."
"What tricks is he playing now?" Sophie Wilson’s first reaction was that someone couldn’t sit still.
She was genuinely afraid of Old Mr. Wilson, baffled that he wouldn’t take care of his brain health, and she was sincerely respectful.
"Probably thinks you have broad connections," Charles Seymour had already figured it out, that once Jacob Smith showed up, the business circles in Imperial City would be sent into a tizzy. It’s only normal for Old Mr. Wilson to want a good relationship with Sophie.
"Really a pragmatic old man." Sophie Wilson snorted coldly, evidently she was now a hot commodity for Old Mr. Wilson.
"Do you want to go?" Charles Seymour asked.
"Sure. No matter what, he’s my dad’s dad, he raised my dad, and was fairly good to my mom. Just a bit realistic, but doesn’t have other faults." Sophie Wilson spoke honestly, not harboring any love-hate feelings towards Old Mr. Wilson and the others.
He wasn’t anyone significant anyhow, why bother?
She believed that this meal would be enjoyable.
Old Mrs. Wilson is definitely someone who can read circumstances well.
Apart from anything else, ever since Wilson Corporation was handed over to her dad, Old Mrs. Wilson’s attitude had vastly improved.
Given that, she knew the outcome even without thinking.
Unfortunately, Sophie Wilson miscalculated this time.
Initially, the atmosphere was quite pleasant, the kindness that Old Mrs. Wilson showed really surprised Sophie Wilson, making her feel as though nothing had ever happened between her and the Wilson Clan.
The atmosphere turned instantly tense once Emerie appeared.
Mason Wilson closed his mouth, looking at Emerie Wilson standing at the door of the private room, his face looking somewhat displeased.
Old Mrs. Wilson shot a fierce glare at Old Mrs. Wilson, wasn’t it agreed that Emerie wouldn’t appear today?
Old Mrs. Wilson felt equally innocent, getting up in surprise and asking, "Emerie, why are you here?"
She had already made it clear to Emerie to wait at home, why did she still come over?
