Chapter 1300: Not Going Back

"That’s fine, having someone at home to take care of Master Shang is great. Chaoyang will join too.""Master Han, I want to go to T City."

"Haha, you finally made up your mind, huh? Go ahead, go ahead, you’re off tomorrow anyway."

Jiang Feifei also smiled at Chaoyang; many people knew what he was thinking.

"Xiao Jiang, take the kids out to have some fun. I have Xiao Zhang here, so there’s really no problem."

"Well, I was just thinking about sharing the joy."

"Haha, there’s really no need. I’ve visited the hot springs before, no regrets. You all go ahead and enjoy yourselves for a few more days."

He noticed the kids were visibly more cheerful since arriving here. They shouldn’t just be cooped up at home; this trip to the Capital, he felt, contributed greatly to their growth.

Since there’s the opportunity, let the kids experience more.

"Alright then, we’ll go out for a few days."

"Go ahead, spend a few more days playing, there’s nothing pressing here anyway."

With the decision made, the kids were the happiest of all. They had only read about hot springs in books; now they could experience it firsthand.

Ah Bao was also clapping from the side; who knows what he was so delighted about?

In the evening, Old Yang held Zhao Xiaoli, "If you’re feeling down and don’t want to stay, we can go back."

"No need, I don’t know what’s up with me either. It’s not that I have to go back; it’s just that the thought suddenly occurred. I just thought of soon being home."

Old Yang patted her back. His wife wasn’t like this before, a bit immature, yes, but definitely not this unpredictable.

"Maybe I’ve been neglecting you lately, that’s why you’re like this. Starting tomorrow, there won’t be anything in the way. Wherever you want to go, whatever you want to do, I’ll be with you."

"I don’t really know; it’s just that my mood has been inexplicably restless."

Old Yang hugged Zhao Xiaoli, "It’s fine, I’ll always be with you. Go visit the hot springs, even if you can’t soak in them, you can still have a look."

"Mm, I want to see the hot springs too."

"If you want, after we’ve had the baby, I’ll take you to soak over there."

"Mm," the couple’s love was sweet and affectionate.

Wei Kaiyun, feeling content, held his wife.

"We’ll set out the day after tomorrow."

"Alright then, play for three to five days and then come back. The kids have become quite wild during play."

"Haha, it’s okay; our kids won’t make trouble."

"Now that Xiao Li and them decided not to go back, I’m relieved."

"Yes, deciding not to return is the right choice."

The next day, Old Yang went to get a refund on the tickets, accompanied by Chaoyang. He needed to buy train tickets to T City; since he wasn’t going back, he wanted to see Jing Chu daily.

He imagined her reaction at seeing him, and it brought a smile to his face.

Old Yang looked at her disdainfully, "Jing Chu has a strong temper. If you keep being too soft, there’s no chance.

When needed, you must stand firm. If she validates you in her heart, you’ll find peace."

"Mm, I understand. I’ll handle it as things develop. I don’t want to make her uncomfortable."

Old Yang couldn’t comprehend the young people’s mindset, so he said no more.

They only managed to refund 70% of the ticket. The train to T City was leaving in two hours, so the pair hurried home.

The things they bought were just in time to bring over to Jing Chu.

After tidying up, Jiang Xinyu handed him the home key. Bedding was absent; who thought Chaoyang would come back again?

Still, he was well stocked with food. Chaoyang embarked on his journey alone, carrying his luggage.

First, he went to the post office to make a call to the township.

"Troubling Xing Xiangzhang, we’ve decided not to return."

"Haha, I haven’t visited your village yet, so now there’s no need."

"Thank you so much, Xing Xiangzhang. If you see my dad, please ask him to send me a transfer proof."

"Alright, the meeting should be in a few days. I’ll let your dad know, are you planning to settle in the Capital?"

"Mm, it’s more convenient this way."

"Alright, I’ll definitely inform your dad."

Now Chaoyang felt assured, carrying his luggage, smiling as he headed to the train station, filled with dreams and hopes for the future.

Jiang Xinyu was also organizing her things at home; the kids’ stuff had just been unpacked, now she had to pack them again.

The next day, they just drove away in the truck. The three little ones and Zhao Xiaoli, Jiang Xinyu, were in the driver’s seat.

Chaoyang’s ticket was for a hard seat, but given the short trip and his youth, he didn’t mind.

But he got a lot of attention because he was eating so well.

Though the pig’s head meat was cold, the meat’s aroma was still detectable.

Sitting next to him was a young man. He had already secretly swallowed several gulps of saliva.

Sitting next to this guy was suffering; in the morning, he ate fragrant mahua. They looked golden and soft, all appetizing, and the man even drank a glass of milk powder. At noon, it was pancakes wrapped in meat.

It was truly torturous. Holding his own steamed bun, he was tempted to throw it away.

Those around Chaoyang felt the same.

Chaoyang was aware of this but had no choice. Teacher Jiang packed a lot of food for him. Not eating it would be a disservice to himself.

But seeing those around him staring at his food like wolves, Chaoyang really didn’t know what to do.

Skipping meals wasn’t an option; their gaze was too terrifying.

In the afternoon, the young man next to Chaoyang nudged his arm.

"Where are you headed?"

"T City."

"Me too. You don’t sound like you’re from there."

"Mm, going to a relative’s."

"Oh, is it in the city?"

"No, F County."

"Are you getting off at the county then?"

"Yes, directly at the county. What about you?"

"I get off before you, in the city. Where are you from?"

Chaoyang mentioned his hometown.

"That far?"

"Yeah, very far."

The two young men were about the same age and soon found themselves in an engaging conversation.

"Dude, eating like this makes me lose all hope."

"You’re exaggerating. My family elders prepared this."

"Brought all the way from the Northeast?"

"No, from the Capital."

"Really envy you, your lifestyle makes me drool."

"Your mouth isn’t tempted?"

"Of course, my mouth is even more tempted. Your family must be doing well."

"Not bad, but the elders wanted to make sure I eat well on the train, so they had someone buy and bring the meat for me." Chaoyang knew better than to flaunt wealth.

At dinner time, Chaoyang offered Lin Chen a piece of mahua, an old-fashioned gesture.

"So delicious, your family’s elders have great skill."

Lin Chen wasn’t one to take advantage, so he took out two apples from his bag, one for each of them.

The two got familiar on the train. Sometimes one would step away, and the other would watch the luggage.
