Chapter 912: 918: Deep Affection Under the Moon

9 min read

The night quietly descended, a bright moon rose from the edge of the sky towards midday, and the autumn breeze blew away the lingering heat, rustling through the camphor leaves outside the bathhouse.

In the bath, Chen Mo embraced Yu Zhu’s hot and graceful body from behind, turning her delicate head towards himself, then lowered his head to capture her soft, plump lips in a tender kiss.

Yu Zhu’s eyelashes slightly trembled, her eyes filled with spring-like affection gently closed, responding to Chen Mo’s kiss.

As Chen Mo kissed her, he held her delicate body and stood up.

Yu Zhu’s legs were long, neither fat nor thin, yet they appeared particularly powerful.

Chen Mo held her cheek in one hand and wrapped his arm around her waist with the other, kissing her from the rosy lips to her neck.

She struggled slightly, not rejecting Chen Mo’s intimacy, but her constant turning to look behind was causing her neck some soreness.

She turned her head back to face forward, allowing Chen Mo to kiss her side and nape.

Chen Mo caressed her beautiful legs, as they weren’t of the plump type, her leg muscles were taut, very elastic.

Yu Zhu’s alluring face was as red as fire, feeling the young man’s hand had already touched the inner side of her thigh...

Strangely, in this bathhouse with such high water temperature, Chen Mo even managed to catch a fish.

It’s unclear whether it was standing too long at Yizhuang today or the soaking in the bath that made her entire body feel relaxed, but Yu Zhu’s legs felt somewhat weak, causing her waist to bend forward while being embraced by Chen Mo.

This made her buttocks curve into a beautiful arc, arching into Chen Mo’s arms.

"Hiss!"

A trace of intoxication appeared on Chen Mo’s face.

Yu Zhu had a seductive gaze that seemed to shimmer, and on her fiery cheeks bloomed a blush of infatuation.

As Chen Mo’s hand loosened from her waist, Yu Zhu’s body, due to inertia, fell forward, frightening her into instinctively stretching out her hands to grasp the bath’s edge.

Yu Zhu had just breathed a sigh of relief when the young man quickly pressed close from behind.

"Mm!"

"Mm~"

Both of them let out a muffled sound.

Yu Zhu’s flush of infatuation spread rapidly from her cheeks to her earlobes in that instant, the whole process, in the blink of an eye.

The steamy water in the bathhouse grew thicker, forming a white mist that enveloped the two in the water.

Initially, one could still see a silhouette of bodies.

Gradually, even the silhouette faded away.

After an unknown span of time.

As the temperature of the hot water in the pool dropped, the white mist in the room gradually dissipated.

Chen Mo lazily sat in the pool, his hands stretched backwards to both sides, resting on the bath’s edge.

At this moment, Yu Zhu’s remarkably beautiful face, like a blood-stained rose, leaned against Chen Mo’s chest, her hair adorned with trickling glossy beads of sweat, flowing continuously down to her exquisite clavicle, breathing lightly.

A while later, Yu Zhu spoke, her voice slightly hoarse: "Your Majesty, it’s dark."

Chen Mo gently embraced her sleek shoulders, saying: "Are you hungry?"

Yu Zhu shook her head, her voice trembling a bit: "Not hungry, just so tired, I really want to sleep."

"Then let’s get up and rest in the room; I’ll wake you up later for something to eat." Chen Mo kissed her forehead.

...

The sky darkened quickly to the north, and the autumn moon that had been on the horizon had somehow climbed into the sky, hanging high.

On the other side, Nalan Yiren, after bathing, changed into a black form-fitting dress, her brows sharp, hair tied into a high ponytail, exuding a dash of heroism.

In this unfamiliar place, and at night, the feeling took her back to the first night she stayed at the Observatory, a strange sense of loneliness engulfed her.

The sound of the night breeze rustling through the leaves outside the window brought about a thought of going to find Chen Mo in her mind.

Humans are a social species, highly socialized.

Nalan Yiren was seldom alone, surrounded by familiar people in the Poison King Valley, and due to her strong personality, she naturally didn’t have a feeling of wanting "dependence."

But arriving at Great Wei, an unfamiliar environment, and having an affection for Chen Mo, whose strength surpassed hers, helping her in her moments of greatest need and despair, made her first thought to find Chen Mo, at his side when a feeling of loneliness arose.

Having asked the servants in the mansion, she found that Chen Mo was in Yu Zhu’s room, causing Nalan Yiren to frown slightly, but she still headed towards Yu Zhu’s room.

Upon arriving outside Yu Zhu’s yard, Nalan Yiren sensed Chen Mo’s presence inside.

While she pondered on what excuse to use to see him, the light in the chamber within suddenly went out.

Nalan Yiren was slightly taken aback, thinking the two of them would just rest now, a hint of disappointment surfacing on her face.

Just as Nalan Yiren turned around to leave.

"Yiren, what are you doing here?"

Nalan Yiren had only taken a few steps when a voice sounded behind her.

She turned around and looked up, only to see Chen Mo, neatly dressed, walking out from Yu Zhu’s courtyard, standing nearby with his hands clasped behind, looking at her in confusion: "Is there something you need?"

"Well... the kitchen has prepared dinner. I didn’t see you around, so I came to call you," she said, glancing towards the courtyard, "Where’s Princess Consort Xiang?"

"She’s tired and is sleeping. I’ll wake her up later for some food. Let’s eat first," Chen Mo said, heading toward the main hall.

Nalan Yiren quickly followed, pondering why Yu Zhu, a Seventh-Grade Martial Artist, would be tired.

...

After dining, Chen Mo and Nalan Yiren walked through the garden within the residence.

This garden couldn’t compare to the Imperial Palace’s backyard but had its own elegant charm.

Chen Mo stopped by the rockery. The light was provided solely by the moon overhead, and the sound of water trickling from the rockery filled the air. With his hands still clasped behind him, he turned around and said to Nalan Yiren: "I haven’t properly thanked you for today."

"I thought you’d forgotten."

"How could I forget? You are the great benefactor of Great Wei." Chen Mo said with a smile, looking into Nalan Yiren’s eyes.

Nalan Yiren’s skin was already fair. Under the moonlight, it glowed with a crystalline translucence, giving her an ethereal look.

Feeling a bit embarrassed at being stared at, Nalan Yiren quickly shifted her gaze to the stream below the rockery. Enjoying the peaceful solitude with Chen Mo, she teased, "After helping you so much, how are you going to thank me? Surely you won’t just offer verbal thanks like now?"

When she finished, she tilted her head to look at Chen Mo.

Chen Mo took a step closer to Nalan Yiren. Startled, she quickly said, "You... don’t move."

But instead of stopping, Chen Mo took another step forward, reached out, and gently grasped her delicate hand, smiling, "I’ve already given myself to you, and you’re still not satisfied?"

"Spare me, who’s asking for you? Don’t be so full of yourself," Nalan Yiren retorted.

He really had the nerve to say that.

After speaking, she tried to pull her hand away, but instead, she was drawn into Chen Mo’s embrace.

"You want to marry me, yet you don’t want me?" Chen Mo teased, holding her chin while his other hand firmly embraced her waist.

"Let go of me. Who said anything about marrying you? I... might change my mind," Nalan Yiren replied evasively, her eyes darting around.

"Too late. Alive, you’re mine; dead, you’re my ghost. Do you think you can escape from me?" Chen Mo said, leaning in to capture her cherry lips.

"Mmm..."

Nalan Yiren’s originally cool demeanor suddenly turned flustered. After a symbolic push against Chen Mo’s chest, she placed her hands on his shoulders, awkwardly responding, a blush spreading across her cheeks.

The gentle moonlight fell on the two, casting their elongated shadows on the rockery.

After a long while, their lips parted.

Nalan Yiren felt dizzy, her eyes hazy. Finally regaining her senses, she looked up to see Chen Mo smiling at her, bashfully pushing him away.

This time, Chen Mo didn’t hold her tightly, and she successfully pushed him away.

Nalan Yiren paused, not expecting Chen Mo not to hold her.

But since she had already pushed him away, she couldn’t very well go back.

After giving him a glare and a huff, she turned to leave.

But as soon as she took a step, she was pulled back, her body colliding with Chen Mo’s broad chest.

"Let go..."

Though she was pushing against him, her hands applied little force.

"Yiren." Chen Mo lowered his head, speaking softly.

"Don’t talk, let me go first..." Nalan Yiren continued to "powerlessly" push against him, but before she could finish her sentence, she felt a gaze fixed on her.

She looked up, meeting Chen Mo’s gaze, noticing something different in his eyes.

"What is it?" Nalan Yiren asked.

"Once we quell Jin Xia, I’ll, as the Emperor of Great Wei, formally propose to you—Nalan Yiren. Then we’ll return to Poison King Valley and have a grand wedding that won’t wrong you," Chen Mo vowed tenderly.

Nalan Yiren bit her lip, initially wanting to continue bantering with Chen Mo, but seeing the seriousness in his expression, she suddenly felt flustered. After hesitating for a while, she softly responded with a blush.
