The central conceit of the story is its strongest asset; forcing a callous author to inhabit the shoes of a disposable character creates a compelling layer of poetic justice. This dynamic adds depth to the survival elements, as the protagonist's knowledge of the world is hampered by his own previous disregard for the 'extras.' However, the work is currently in its infancy. At 76 chapters, the plot is still establishing its foundation, and the overarching threat of the upcoming Wave feels more like a distant promise than an immediate pressure. While the progression is steady, the supporting cast has yet to emerge from the shadow of the protagonist's internal monologue. It is a promising start that effectively utilizes the reincarnation genre, but it requires more development to fully realize the stakes of its high-fantasy setting.
