Chapter 2: The Blood Hand Gang’s Warning

6 min read

While Bena and the others were recruiting in October Town, some of the town’s local powers were secretly monitoring their actions.

As a powerful force near October Town, the Blood Saber Gang naturally wouldn’t turn a blind eye to actions that could threaten their position.

Inside the Blood Saber Gang’s secret hideout, several core members were gathered to discuss their strategy.

"Boss, we can’t let them keep recruiting in October Town."

A burly man with a hideous scar on his face spoke, looking utterly vicious.

"Yeah, if we let them keep recruiting, I’m afraid they’ll attract more people to their shelter."

Another, smaller man chimed in, a cunning glint in his eyes.

Blood Saber sat at the head of the table, a playful smile on his face, seemingly unconcerned about Bena’s actions.

"You underestimate our Blood Saber Gang’s strength," Blood Saber said coolly.

"A mere shelter dares to run wild on our turf?"

"If those guys are willing to stay quietly inside their little turtle shells, then fine. But if they really dare to come out and wander around, they’ll be devoured until not even their bones are left."

"But Boss, we can’t get complacent."

The scar-faced thug said, "That shelter’s strength can’t be underestimated. From what I saw, their leader and his people are all capable fighters."

"If we let them continue to grow, they’ll be a huge threat to us."

Blood Saber pondered for a moment, then spoke.

"You have a point. We can’t let them keep growing stronger. Send some men to tell them to get lost and stop recruiting people."

"Boss, let me go," the scar-faced thug immediately volunteered.

Blood Saber glanced at him and nodded. "Alright, you take a few men. Remember, don’t make a big scene in town. Our main task right now is still to find those stinking rats who ambushed our camp."

The scar-faced thug took his orders. He led a few of his men out the door and headed toward the tavern.

Bena had no idea that a conspiracy against them was secretly brewing.

The scar-faced thug and his men arrived at the tavern, looking for trouble.

They drew everyone’s attention the moment they walked through the door.

The scar-faced thug scanned the room coldly, his gaze finally landing on Bena and his group. A cold smile touched his lips as he strode over.

"You’re the ones from that shelter that’s recruiting?"

The scar-faced thug’s voice was laced with a threat.

Bena turned to look at him, his gaze calm. "That’s right, we are. Who are you?"

"You don’t even know who we are, and you dare to recruit people here? You’ve got some nerve."

"We’re from the Blood Hand Gang. I’m warning you, stop recruiting immediately, or don’t blame us for what happens next,"

the scar-faced thug said viciously.

Bena’s heart sank. He hadn’t expected the Blood Saber Gang to show up so quickly.

’But the situation isn’t too bad yet.’

’From their attitude, I can tell they probably know nothing about what happened a couple of days ago.’

’Otherwise, they wouldn’t have just sent some small-timer to chase me off. They would’ve attacked directly.’

He quickly weighed his options. ’Starting a conflict with the Blood Saber Gang here would be an incredibly unwise move.’

’Our mission here is done. I just need to wait for Hawke and Neil to get back.’

"We’re just here recruiting. We don’t want any trouble."

Bena tried his best to keep his tone calm.

But the scar-faced thug was relentless.

"I don’t care what your purpose is. Get the hell out of October Town right now, or you’ll face the consequences."

A cold glint flashed in Bena’s eyes, but he immediately suppressed his anger.

"We’ve already recruited the people we need. We’ll leave in an hour."

Hearing Bena’s words, the scar-faced thug felt a little smug.

’The Blood Saber Gang’s name still carries some weight around here.’

’Normally, I wouldn’t let them off so easily. But then I remembered the boss told me not to make a big scene, so I swallowed the words on the tip of my tongue.’

He snorted coldly. "You’d better. Otherwise, you’ll regret it."

After saying that, he turned and left the tavern with his men.

As Bena watched the scar-faced thug’s retreating back, a flicker of worry crossed his eyes.

He hadn’t expected to attract the Blood Hand Gang’s attention so quickly. Although he wasn’t afraid of them, he didn’t want to cause extra trouble at a time like this.

"Bena, what do we do now?" Zhou Mei asked in a low voice.

Bena thought for a moment, then said, "We’ve recruited Hawke and Neil. Once they get back, we’ll leave October Town immediately."

"We should try to avoid conflict with the Blood Hand Gang. Now isn’t the time to go head-to-head with them."

Zhou Mei and Zhou Yiming both nodded. They also understood the gravity of the situation.

Meanwhile, the other people in the tavern began to whisper among themselves, discussing what had just happened.

Some grew curious about the strength and background of Bena’s group, while others began to consider joining their shelter.

Bena and his group didn’t have to wait long. Hawke and Neil soon returned to the tavern.

"Bena, we’re ready," Hawke said.

Neil also nodded. "We can leave whenever."

Bena stood up. "Then let’s leave October Town now."

The group quickly left the tavern, got on their motorcycles, and left October Town.

After circling the outskirts of October Town twice to make sure they weren’t being tailed, they finally relaxed and headed toward the shelter.

Not long after the group left, a sneaky figure slipped out of the tavern.

「A few minutes later.」

Lynch appeared before Blood Saber.

Blood Saber looked at Lynch with great interest.

"You’re saying you know where to find the people we’re looking for?"

Lynch nodded repeatedly.

"That’s right, I do."

"But..."

At this, Lynch rubbed his fingers together.

A flash of killing intent crossed Blood Saber’s eyes, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.

"Spit it out. What’s your price?" Blood Saber’s voice held a trace of impatience.

A chill went down Lynch’s spine, and he quickly stated his price.

"One hundred Silver Coins. Just one hundred coins is all I need."

Blood Saber sneered.

"You’ve got quite an appetite."

Hearing this, Lynch’s heart sank, and he was just about to lower his price.

But then Blood Saber continued.

"One hundred Silver Coins it is. But if you dare lie to me, you know what will happen to you."

As he spoke, Blood Saber shot a look at a nearby subordinate. The man understood immediately, turning to a cabinet to retrieve a small bag of Silver Coins. He then tossed it in front of Lynch.

Lynch gulped at the sight of the gleaming Silver Coins on the table.
