Chapter 18: He is my ninth junior brother

9 min read

Victor’s aura continued rising without end as the breakthrough completed. Deep violet streams of chaotic mana spiraled around him like living dragons, twisting space wherever they passed. The air itself screamed as countless cracks spread through the sky, unable to withstand the existence of a power that did not belong to any known element in the universe.

Every race present stared with widened eyes. They had seen countless elemental Laws throughout history—fire, ice, lightning, space, darkness, light, death, destruction—but none of them had ever witnessed an element that radiated such terrifying, incomprehensible fluctuations. It was as though reality itself rejected its existence.

Victor slowly lifted his head and looked toward Melina. His golden eyes had become frighteningly calm, carrying an indifference that made her instincts scream. There was no killing intent leaking from him, only absolute silence, as if he had become the eye of a cosmic storm.

"So..." Victor said softly while flexing his fingers. "This is what a Sovereign feels like."

The next instant, he vanished without disturbing even a speck of dust. There was no spatial fluctuation, no teleportation ripple, only complete disappearance. Even Melina’s pupils shrank as she instinctively retreated hundreds of kilometers, sensing an unknown danger.

She had barely moved when a deep violet magic circle nearly ten kilometers wide unfolded beneath her feet. Ancient runes rotated in opposite directions while millions of smaller circles bloomed throughout the sky, connecting into an unimaginably complex formation that covered the heavens like a divine constellation.

"What... is this?"

Melina’s voice unconsciously trembled as every circle began shining simultaneously. She had fought countless mages throughout her life, yet none had ever been capable of casting a spell of such absurd scale in an instant. It wasn’t merely fast.

It was instantaneous.

Victor calmly stood at the center of the formation with one hand inside his pocket while his other hand slowly rose into the air. Infinite mana surged through the countless magic circles without the slightest sign of exhaustion, causing the deep violet radiance to become increasingly blinding.

"Chaos Magic."

His voice echoed across heaven and earth.

"Oblivion Rain."

Boom!

Every magic circle erupted simultaneously.

Hundreds of thousands of deep violet beams descended from the heavens like divine judgment. Each beam carried the newly comprehended Rule of Chaos: Oblivion, erasing everything in its path. Mountains dissolved into clouds of chaotic particles before vanishing completely.

Nothing exploded.

Nothing burned.

Everything simply returned to Chaos.

Melina’s beautiful face changed drastically as countless beams surrounded her from every direction. She unleashed millions of blades of holy light that collided with the descending attacks, hoping to blast them apart before they reached her.

The moment they touched...

The holy attacks silently dissolved.

There was no explosion.

No clash.

The brilliant light simply crumbled into deep violet particles before disappearing from existence, as though it had never been created in the first place.

"What?"

Melina’s eyes widened in disbelief. Her attacks had not been overpowered.

They had been erased.

Victor’s expression remained completely emotionless as another enormous magic formation appeared behind him. Thousands of smaller circles rapidly rotated around the main formation, continuously amplifying the spell while infinite mana poured into it without end.

"You rely on power."

Victor’s voice remained calm.

"I rely on magic."

The second spell was released.

"Chaos Prison."

The surrounding space instantly transformed into countless deep violet chains woven entirely from the Rule of Chaos. They did not bind her physical body.

They bound reality itself.

Melina’s movements became sluggish as the chains wrapped around every direction around her. Every time she attempted to destroy one, the chaotic chains simply regenerated faster than she could break them, endlessly supplied by Victor’s limitless mana.

She gritted her teeth before erupting with overwhelming divine energy. Golden light burst from her body like a miniature sun, shattering thousands of chains in an instant. Before she could escape, another hundred thousand chains replaced the destroyed ones.

Victor merely raised another finger.

"Collapse."

The entire prison compressed inward.

Boom!

Melina spat out a mouthful of blood as dozens of her bones shattered under the crushing force. Her elegant wings became stained crimson while countless wounds spread across her flawless body.

The Spirit Race prince felt his heart nearly stop beating. Just moments ago, Melina had treated Victor like an insect beneath her feet. Now she was being completely overwhelmed without even landing another attack.

"This... this isn’t possible..."

None of the surrounding geniuses could comprehend what they were witnessing. They had never seen someone cast world-ending spells one after another without even pausing to recover mana. Every spell was capable of destroying continents, yet Victor continued casting them as casually as breathing.

Melina roared in fury as all four wings erupted with blinding radiance. Countless spears of holy judgment materialized around her before shooting toward Victor with enough force to tear apart stars.

Victor didn’t dodge.

Thousands of deep violet magic circles appeared before him, overlapping into hundreds of magical layers. The holy spears collided against them one after another before instantly dissolving into chaotic mist, their divine energy returning to its original state before disappearing completely.

Melina stared blankly.

Her strongest ordinary attacks...

Were completely useless.

Victor calmly waved his hand.

Another magic formation spread across the sky.

"Chaos Cataclysm."

The world darkened.

A gigantic deep violet sphere nearly the size of a moon descended from the heavens while endless chaotic lightning wrapped around its surface. The pressure alone caused millions of kilometers of land to collapse before it had even landed.

Melina desperately gathered every ounce of divine power she possessed before unleashing her greatest defensive technique. Layers upon layers of golden barriers surrounded her body, each capable of withstanding attacks from peak Sovereigns.

The sphere descended.

The barriers disappeared one after another without resistance.

First layer.

Second.

Third.

Tenth.

Hundredth.

Each barrier simply dissolved back into chaotic essence.

Boom!

The enormous sphere engulfed Melina completely.

When the deep violet light finally faded, everyone could only stare in horror.

Melina floated weakly in the air.

Her once flawless armor had completely vanished. One of her radiant wings had been destroyed while the remaining three were covered in blood. Her breathing had become chaotic, and countless wounds covered every inch of her body.

Victor slowly walked through the sky toward her.

Every step caused countless deep violet ripples to spread beneath his feet.

His expression remained as indifferent as ever.

"I expected more."

Those three words completely shattered Melina’s pride.

A crazed expression appeared on her face as boundless divine light erupted from every pore of her body. Ancient angelic symbols appeared across her skin while the surrounding heaven began singing sacred hymns.

"You filthy insect..."

Her voice no longer sounded human.

"You forced me this far.", instantly her life force started sucking away.

Crack!

Her bones began changing.

Brilliant golden feathers rapidly spread across her body while an overwhelming divine aura exploded into the sky. A gigantic phantom of a six-winged angel manifested behind her, radiating authority capable of judging entire civilizations.

"Divine Angel Transformation."

Boom!

The battlefield instantly changed.

Melina’s aura multiplied several times over, becoming so overwhelming that countless stars visible in the distant sky began trembling. Her wounds healed at astonishing speed while her destroyed wing regenerated before everyone’s eyes.

Victor’s Chaos Domain expanded once more, attempting to suppress the transformed Melina. Endless deep violet mist swallowed heaven and earth as the colossal chaotic avatar once again appeared behind him.

Melina simply raised one hand.

"Break."

Boom!

Golden divine light exploded outward.

The Chaos Domain, which moments earlier had dominated the battlefield, shattered like fragile glass. Deep violet fragments scattered across the sky before disappearing entirely.

Victor froze.

His confident expression finally cracked.

"Oh shit..."

"I should have run away."

Melina’s face twisted into a savage smile as boundless divine energy gathered around her fist. Space collapsed layer after layer simply from the pressure leaking from her body.

"Die, ant!"

She disappeared.

Victor instantly deployed tens of thousands of defensive magic formations while simultaneously firing countless forbidden spells toward her. Meteor storms, dimensional ruptures, chaotic dragons, and violet annihilation beams flooded the battlefield.

She ignored every one of them.

The attacks struck her body only to be smashed apart by overwhelming divine power before reaching her. The remaining spells exploded around her harmlessly as she charged through the magical storm like an unstoppable goddess of judgment.

Victor’s pupils contracted.

He felt genuine danger.

Just as Melina’s fist was about to reach him, an icy voice echoed across the heavens.

"Insolent."

Boom!

An apocalyptic pressure descended from above.

The pressure was so overwhelming that time itself seemed to freeze. The transformed Melina abruptly stopped in midair before crashing to her knees, her divine aura collapsing uncontrollably.

Everyone instinctively looked toward the sky.

A handsome elven man stood silently in the void with both hands behind his back. His long silver hair danced gently despite the complete absence of wind, while nine sword-like divine weapons floated behind him in perfect formation.

Each sword radiated enough power to erase worlds.

His mere presence made the world itself seem insignificant.

The elven princess’s face instantly turned pale before she hurriedly knelt down.

"My Lord... why are you here?"

The man never answered.

His cold gaze slowly shifted toward Melina.

He simply clenched his fist.

Boom!

Melina screamed as her Divine Angel Transformation was forcibly shattered. Blood exploded from every pore of her body while all four wings collapsed instantly. She was sent crashing into the earth like a broken doll, coughing blood uncontrollably.

Silence engulfed the battlefield.

No one dared breathe.

The Spirit Race prince forced himself to step forward despite his trembling legs.

"May... may I know why His Highness Vladimir has personally intervened to save this lowly human? He is the enemy of every race present here."

The elven man finally looked down.

His voice was calm.

"He is my Ninth Junior Brother."

Boom!

Those simple words struck everyone’s minds like divine thunder.

Every genius froze.

The Spirit Race prince’s face turned completely devoid of color.

Melina forgot the pain consuming her body.

No one had expected that the terrifying human standing before them... possessed a background even more frightening than his monstrous talent.
