Chapter 16: Killing a grade 10 monster

8 min read

The moment those words left Victor’s lips, the expressions of every genius present instantly darkened. Their eyes narrowed with disbelief as a single thought echoed through their minds.

Children?

No one had ever dared address them in such a manner. Every one of them was the greatest prodigy of their respective race, destined to become future rulers, future kings, and legends whose names would one day shake the universe. Yet a lone human had looked at them as though they were nothing more than immature children.

The giant leader’s eyes blazed with killing intent as he tightened his grip around the enormous axe resting on his shoulder. Veins bulged across his muscular arms while a cruel smile slowly spread across his face.

"You’ve got quite the courage," he said in a cold voice. "Let me teach you just how insignificant humans truly are."

Just as he was about to swing his axe, Victor calmly released a tiny fraction of his aura.

Boom!

The entire world fell silent. A deep purple pressure spread across the heavens, causing the crimson sky to tremble violently. Space itself distorted as invisible ripples expanded in every direction, as though reality could no longer withstand the presence that had descended upon it.

An indescribable aura engulfed the battlefield. It was ancient beyond imagination, carrying an authority that surpassed time itself. It felt as though the origin of all creation had awakened once again and was silently gazing upon every living being.

The giant leader’s pupils shrank violently. His raised axe suddenly became unimaginably heavy, and his powerful arms trembled uncontrollably. Before he could even resist, the ground beneath his feet exploded apart.

Crack!

His knees slowly bent until they slammed into the shattered earth. It was not because he wished to kneel. His body had simply lost the ability to remain standing before such overwhelming pressure.

The same scene unfolded throughout the battlefield. The elven geniuses turned deathly pale as their elegant composure completely vanished. Members of the Heavenly Race felt their sacred energy become utterly suppressed, while the demon prodigies discovered that even the demonic blood flowing through their veins was trembling in instinctive fear.

Several of the weaker geniuses collapsed directly onto the ground, unable to endure the pressure any longer. Cold sweat poured down everyone’s faces as terror consumed their hearts. They felt as though an ancient god had appeared before them.

No.

Even gods should not possess such an overwhelming destructive aura.

Victor looked down upon them with his deep purple eyes. His expression remained calm, completely indifferent to the fear surrounding him. His voice echoed across the silent battlefield like an unquestionable decree.

"I have no interest in killing the younger generation. So leave."

"I won’t say it twice."

Not a single person dared answer him. Every trace of arrogance had disappeared from their faces, replaced only by shock, disbelief, and instinctive fear. None of them possessed the courage to even meet Victor’s gaze.

Without waiting for a response, Victor turned around. With a single step, his figure disappeared into distorted space, and the terrifying pressure vanished together with him.

Only then did the gathered geniuses finally regain the ability to breathe. The giant leader remained kneeling upon the shattered ground, staring blankly at the place where Victor had disappeared, his mind still unable to comprehend what had just happened.

"Who was he?" the elven princess asked with a pale expression. "Have you ever heard of a human civilization producing someone like that? Could he be of mixed blood?"

"I don’t think so," the Spirit Race leader replied coldly, his humiliation still burning within him. "But I won’t let that bastard get away after disrespecting me. Since I can’t touch him, some unfortunate human civilizations will pay the price instead."

Far away from that place, Victor had already entered another region and resumed hunting monsters. Days passed in relentless slaughter as beast after beast fell before him. After three continuous days of hunting, his total evolution points finally reached five hundred million.

On the fourth day, Victor arrived beneath an enormous mountain while searching for stronger prey. Just as he was about to continue forward, a heaven-shaking roar suddenly echoed across the land.

Roar!

The terrifying sound shook both the earth and the sky. Countless monsters fled in panic as though an emperor had issued a command that none dared disobey. Victor slowly turned toward the distant mountain, an excited smile appearing on his face.

"A Domain Master has finally appeared."

Unlike ordinary Grade 9 monsters, Domain Masters had already comprehended fragments of the Laws of the universe. Their strength no longer relied solely on elemental power but on manipulating the very principles that governed reality itself.

Although Victor had yet to comprehend a true Law, he possessed the Chaos Domain. While a domain existed two levels beneath an actual Law, he believed it should still be capable of resisting one to a certain extent.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Heavy footsteps echoed across the land as a gigantic ape emerged from the forest. Although it stood only around ten feet tall, the pressure surrounding its body was so dense that it seemed almost tangible, distorting the air with every step.

"Let’s test its strength first."

Victor casually waved his hand, causing a sword forged entirely from condensed light to materialize. The weapon shot forward with a deafening sonic boom, aiming directly at the ape’s chest.

The ape did not even bother moving.

The light sword crashed into its body before instantly shattering into countless fragments. Not even the faintest scratch remained on the ape’s skin, causing Victor’s confident expression to freeze.

"What the..."

He had expected at least some effect.

Without wasting another moment, hundreds of blazing meteors appeared high above the battlefield before descending toward the ape like a rain of destruction. The entire sky turned crimson under their overwhelming heat.

Whoosh!

The ape suddenly vanished.

Victor’s instincts screamed in warning. A chill ran down his spine as he immediately activated teleportation, disappearing from his original position.

Boom!

A gigantic crater instantly appeared where he had been standing. The ape’s fist had struck the ground with enough force to shake the surrounding mountains, creating shockwaves that spread for miles.

"So that’s how it works."

Victor narrowed his eyes while observing the ape.

"It isn’t teleportation. It’s using the Law to move at speeds that almost imitate teleportation. No wonder Domain Masters are feared."

A smile slowly appeared on his face as excitement filled his heart.

"Let’s fight properly."

"Chaos Avatar."

A colossal avatar instantly manifested before Victor. However, instead of sending it forward, he fused the giant figure around his own body, transforming it into an enormous suit of armor that perfectly mirrored his every movement.

For some reason, Victor wanted to experience this battle head-on.

The ape let out another deafening roar before charging forward. Their enormous fists collided with enough force to split the clouds apart, creating devastating shockwaves that flattened forests and shattered mountains in every direction.

Victor gradually gained the upper hand after infusing his attacks with Chaos Element. Every punch carried destructive properties that the ape found increasingly difficult to resist. However, the battle changed once more as the beast released another furious roar.

Its body rapidly expanded.

Ten meters.

Thirty meters.

Fifty meters.

Finally, it reached a towering height of one hundred meters, becoming a true mountain of muscle whose presence alone distorted the surrounding atmosphere.

[Victor, it has activated its Law.]

The World System warned him immediately. [Based on my analysis, it has comprehended the Law of Strength. Be extremely careful.]

Victor nodded without showing the slightest fear.

"Then let’s go all out."

"Chaos Domain."

A massive domain instantly expanded around the battlefield. The ape immediately felt its connection to the surrounding Law become unstable and chaotic. Although Victor’s domain could not completely suppress a true Law, it still interfered with its operation enough to weaken the beast’s control.

Victor showed no intention of giving his opponent time to recover. Spatial Shatter, Time Stop, Light Brilliance, Black Hole, and countless other powerful techniques erupted one after another, continuously bombarding the giant ape without pause.

Even so, the ape relied on nothing but overwhelming physical strength to destroy every attack that reached it. Mountains collapsed beneath its fists, black holes shattered under its punches, and even space itself cracked from the sheer force it produced.

Still, Victor could tell his strategy was working.

"It should be around fifty times stronger than me in this form," he thought calmly. "But as long as this battle continues, victory will eventually become mine."

His Eternal Physique gradually displayed its terrifying advantages. He never became exhausted, every injury healed almost instantly, and his endless mana allowed him to unleash techniques without interruption.

Meanwhile, trapped inside the Chaos Domain, the ape could neither escape nor recover. Endless attacks rained down upon it from every direction, slowly wearing away even its monstrous vitality.

After an incredibly long battle, the ape finally let out one last earth-shaking roar. Its gigantic body staggered backward before collapsing onto the broken land with a thunderous crash, shaking the entire region.

[Ding! Grade 10 monster killed.]

[Reward: 5,000,000 Evolution Points.]
