Synopsis
Falwood is a place of cruelty for Mia Lowder, a woman trapped in a wheelchair and burdened by a reputation for malice and betrayal. While the townspeople cast her as a villain who harmed her own kin, she finds an unexpected shield in Benjamin Grant. Their history is fraught with pain; Benjamin was the cause of her disability four years prior, leading to her desperate flight from the city. Now returned and bound to him by marriage, Mia enters a volatile dynamic where past resentment clashes with an overwhelming, almost obsessive devotion. The prose leans into high emotional drama, escalating from public humiliation to intense, protective pampering. It is a heavy, emotionally charged experience that rewards those who enjoy stories of redemption and extreme possessiveness, though the intensity of the power imbalance may frustrate those seeking a more egalitarian romance. The story focuses on the psychological shift from hatred to a suffocating kind of love.

Editorial Review
With over a thousand chapters, the sheer scale of this work provides a deep dive into the evolving relationship between Mia and Benjamin. The strength lies in the slow-burn transition from an antagonistic past to an obsessive present, allowing for significant character development over a vast number of installments. However, the length is a double-edged sword. Given the slice-of-life elements, there is a risk of repetitive cycles of conflict and reconciliation that may drag in the middle sections. The shift from a story of abuse to one of extreme pampering is jarring, which might alienate some, but it fits the dramatic tone of the work. It serves as a comprehensive study of obsession, though it requires a significant time investment from the reader to see the payoff of the long-term plotting.
