The peak of that mountain was majestic and extraordinary, not something one would expect in the mortal realm. It was like an Immortal Mountain from myths and legends, soaring to an unbelievable height, reaching straight into the clouds. Even with Chu Xiu’s vision, he couldn’t see the summit at all.
In the distance, he could vaguely see the sky, which seemed to have an enormous dark vortex, and the mountain seemed to lead straight into it.
This stirred an inexplicable feeling within him; he had no idea when such a gigantic object had appeared. The mountain stood silently in the distance, as if it had existed since ancient times, unmoved by the mighty forces of heaven and earth.
What was even more baffling was why did it appear in the distance just after he and the monkey beast mentioned the mountain?
Chu Xiu and Jiang Miaoyin looked serious, while the monkey beast’s eyes shone with joy: "Friend! This is the Holy Mountain, and You City is at its foot. Let’s hurry!"
Chu Xiu hesitated for a moment and asked, "If we arrive late, will the Holy Mountain disappear?"
The monkey beast looked at him strangely: "What are you talking about? The Holy Mountain doesn’t have legs, why would it run off without reason?"
Saying this, he ignored Chu Xiu and led the giants and copper bulls, rushing towards the distant mountain.
The monkey beast’s words left Chu Xiu even more puzzled. If the Holy Mountain could disappear, it could be attributed to some extremely mystical space divine techniques, which allowed it to move such a massive mountain without him noticing. But if it wasn’t space divine techniques, how did the mountain appear?
Or perhaps the ghost doesn’t understand either and is just speaking nonsensical?
Many thoughts flashed through Chu Xiu’s mind, but his pace didn’t slow as he drove the Garuda towards the distant mountain.
For now, he could only go to You City and see for himself.
Chu Xiu followed behind the monkey beast, and before long, a magnificent city at the foot of the mountain appeared before him.
As he got closer, he discovered that the towering mountain that seemed like a giant wall piercing the sky had a path cleaving through it as if someone had used a giant axe to carve a gap.
At the deepest part of the gap, a stream of dark, ethereal mist hung down like a waterfall descending from the heavens.
Following the waterfall, city walls were built from inside to outside, and this is where You City was located.
As the group approached, they found a large number of ghosts sitting cross-legged outside the city walls meditating. At a glance, there were tens of thousands, mostly of the Fierce Tier and General Tier, but unlike the confused giants and copper bulls, they all seemed to have gained some intelligence.
There was a place where the most ghosts gathered, around a huge stone stele.
The monkey beast’s eyes lit up and he said joyfully, "It’s the Inheritance Immortal Stele!"
He turned to clasp his fists at Chu Xiu, "Friend, I will first comprehend the Immortal Stele. Perhaps we shall meet again in the future."
With that said, he hurriedly ran to the large stone and began to study it carefully.
Although the ghost giants and copper bulls hadn’t gained intelligence, they seemed to be attracted by some mysterious force as well, and ran to sit in front of the stone.
Chu Xiu and Jiang Miaoyin also stepped forward. The latter looked at it for a long time before whispering, "There’s not a single word on this stone. Senior, can you see any clues..."
Halfway through the sentence, she suddenly stopped, surprised to find Chu Xiu standing motionless beside her, as if entranced.
Jiang Miaoyin didn’t dare disturb him and quietly waited by the side. After more than two hours, Chu Xiu finally withdrew his gaze.
"Senior... how is it?" Jiang Miaoyin asked expectantly.
"It is indeed peculiar," Chu Xiu replied.
Just as he focused on the stone, he felt an invisible force drawing his mind into it, swiftly entering a profound and mysterious state, giving birth to numerous thoughts within.
Each thought was inspiration that proved elusive in ordinary times. The biggest downside of using Cause and Effect Points for cultivation was that though those skills and divine techniques were indeed developed by your body, and could be used effortlessly, they bypassed the learning process, greatly diminishing profound understanding.
It was like learning a swordsmanship; the practicing process was not just to become skilled in the sword techniques but to gradually grasp the essence of Sword Dao and martial arts.
Master swordsmen, understanding one thing, could deduce many others. Even when observing spear or saber techniques, they could perceive their essence and might even develop their own sword techniques, perhaps not more exquisite than their predecessors but with unique insights.
However, cultivating with Cause and Effect Points is like learning skills in a game. The techniques might be applied skillfully, but wanting to extrapolate and have one’s own ideas is just a pipe dream.
Yet, the thoughts engendered just now seemed to be countless inspirations naturally arising during the cultivation process!
Strangely, though Chu Xiu pondered for over two hours, he could merely let those thoughts traverse his mind without grasping any one of them.
After trying for a while, he didn’t continue to be troubled by it; after all, this didn’t have a significant impact on Chu Xiu.
What he cultivated wasn’t martial arts but divine techniques and immortal technique. Once cultivated, they were done, sufficient for battle. What use was there for extensive comprehension? He was not arrogant enough to attempt to create his own skills.
Certainly, if he could absorb all those inspirations, it would be beneficial to him, but currently, Chu Xiu didn’t have the leisure to delve into them.
"Let’s go into the city and take a look."
With that, he walked towards the city gate.
The city gate was at least a hundred meters high, entirely made of some unknown fine iron, exuding a chilling glow, truly worthy of being called majestic. A Spiritual Power barrier was faintly visible inside, with two guard ghosts at the entrance, both of General Tier.
