Hazel and Tyler appeared inside a quiet inn located near the White Dragon Tower. Unlike the other inns scattered throughout the city, this one also belonged to Tyler. He had deliberately purchased it for a single purpose— to serve as one of the fixed points for Hazel’s teleportation ability. The moment they appeared, Tyler glanced at Hazel.
"You can go back to Suzuka. Continue listening to her instructions."
Hazel silently nodded.
There was no expression on her face, nor did she say anything. Her figure merely blurred for an instant before space around her twisted. In the next moment, she disappeared without leaving behind even the slightest trace.
The ancient sword, which Tyler had been carrying, suddenly gave off a faint buzz.
"So this is how you leave the city without being noticed."
The sword tilted slightly in Tyler’s hand, as though it were looking around despite having no eyes.
"You actually have a walking teleportation artifact."
Tyler glanced at it.
"She isn’t an artifact."
"Then what is she?"
"She is simply a special corpse that I control."
The ancient sword became silent for a moment.
Then it slowly floated out of Tyler’s hand and hovered beside him, its blade tilting slightly toward the direction in which Hazel had disappeared.
"A corpse?"
"Yes."
"A corpse that can teleport?"
"Yes."
The sword buzzed softly.
"Your world is rather strange."
Tyler ignored its comment and walked out of the inn. He adjusted his clothes before stepping onto the street and heading toward the White Dragon Tower.
The ancient sword followed him, floating beside his shoulder. Every now and then, its blade tilted toward the surrounding buildings, clearly observing the city.
After walking for some distance, the sword suddenly buzzed again.
"You really possess a lot of strange things."
Its blade turned toward the White Dragon Tower in the distance.
"What is that magnificent structure?"
Tyler looked up.
The White Dragon Tower pierced into the sky like a white dragon frozen in the midst of ascending to the heavens. Its magnificent exterior attracted countless gazes whenever someone passed through this part of the city.
"Is the outside world filled with structures like this?"
The ancient sword’s voice contained genuine astonishment.
Even after existing for more than a hundred thousand years, it had rarely seen a building of such grandeur. During its era, powerful cultivators could split mountains and overturn seas, but that did not mean every city possessed structures of this scale.
"This tower?"
Tyler smiled faintly.
"It belongs to me as well."
The ancient sword suddenly stopped moving.
Its blade tilted toward Tyler.
Then it buzzed several times.
"Young Lord Tyler..."
Its tone had become somewhat complicated.
"Even during my era, when countless ancient clans and supreme sects stood at their peak, I had never seen anyone as wealthy as you."
"Hehe."
Tyler scratched his nose.
He was not particularly embarrassed by the praise. After all, there was nothing wrong with being rich.
Soon, the two arrived at Tyler’s office inside the White Dragon Tower. His office was not merely a place where he dealt with business. Behind a concealed door was a private laboratory filled with various materials, formation tools, alchemical equipment, and several strange treasures Tyler had collected over time.
Once inside, Tyler closed the door.
He walked toward a large table and placed the ancient sword upon it.
Clang.
The sword landed on the table.
It immediately gave a faint buzz.
"Careful."
Tyler raised an eyebrow.
"You can feel pain?"
"Of course not."
The sword’s blade tilted slightly upward.
"I may be a weapon, but I am not a piece of dead iron."
Tyler smiled and pulled a chair over before sitting down.
"Before we begin, tell me about yourself."
The ancient sword remained quiet for a while.
Its blade slowly tilted from side to side, as though it were recalling memories from a distant era.
"Where should I begin?"
Its voice became deeper.
"Very well. Let us begin one hundred thousand years ago."
Tyler’s expression became serious.
"One hundred thousand years ago, I was created from a piece of meteorite that fell from the heavens. At that time, the greatest weaponsmith in the world obtained that meteorite. He was already standing at the peak of his craft and had forged countless divine weapons."
The sword buzzed softly.
"But even he had never seen material like that meteorite before."
Tyler’s eyes narrowed.
"The meteorite was eventually refined and forged into my body. However, something unexpected happened during the process. The meteorite had previously fallen into an Immortal Spiritual Spring."
"Immortal Spiritual Spring?"
Tyler repeated the name.
The sword tilted slightly.
"Yes. It was an ancient spiritual spring containing an astonishing amount of immortal energy. Ordinary living beings could not withstand its power, but the piece of Sky Rock absorbed that energy for countless years."
"During the forging process, that energy awakened something within me."
The sword gave a faint hum.
"I gained sentience."
Tyler leaned forward slightly.
"So you became a sentient weapon because you absorbed the energy from that spiritual spring?"
"That is what my master told me."
The sword continued, "He was the one who created me, so naturally, he understood my origin better than anyone else. Unfortunately, he could not determine exactly what the Sky Rock was either."
Tyler’s gaze sharpened.
"What happened after that?"
"A great war."
The sword’s voice became somewhat solemn.
"The world was thrown into chaos. Countless experts fought one another, ancient sects were destroyed, and entire regions were reduced to ruins. I was dragged into that war as well."
Its blade slowly lowered.
"Eventually, I was buried beneath the ruins. For a very long time, I remained there. Then that kid found me."
Tyler blinked.
"The kid who looks like my former master" The sword buzzed softly. "When I first saw him, I almost thought my old master had returned from the dead. Their appearances were remarkably similar. Perhaps that was fate."
"Maybe." Tyler nodded. "Fate is always mysterious."
The sword remained silent for a moment before Tyler asked another question.
"Do you know what material your master used to create your body?"
"I already told you. Sky Rock."
"I mean its actual origin."
"I don’t know."
The sword tilted slightly.
"Even my master didn’t know. He only named it Sky Rock because he couldn’t identify it."
Tyler frowned.
"Was there anything special about it?"
The sword immediately buzzed.
"Of course. The rocks and dust surrounding the meteorite would begin floating merely because they were close to it."
Tyler’s eyes lit up. He know a material like that very rare even in Boundless World.
The sword tilted slightly.
"I never understood the principle either. But that was not its only ability."
Tyler’s interest increased.
"I can fly on my own." The sword rose several inches above the table before slowly descending. "Or rather, I could."
Tyler frowned.
"Could?"
"Look at me." The sword floated weakly before settling back onto the table. "Now I can only float a little. I am far too damaged."
Tyler’s gaze moved across its ancient blade.
The sword continued, "I also possess a special spatial ability. I once had my own internal space, and unlike ordinary storage artifacts, living beings could enter it."
Tyler’s eyes were calm, "A space that can store living creatures, huh?"
"Yes." The sword buzzed proudly and then it asked suspiciously, "But why do I feel you are not suprised by it?"
"Ah... Maybe."
"Unfortunately, I cannot use that ability properly anymore. At present, I can only store non-living objects, much like those low-grade storage bags you cultivators use. I also possess another ability as well. It was ability to change my size." The sword paused. "But not anymore."
"Why?"
The ancient sword fell silent. Then it gave a long, weary buzz. "Look at me carefully."
Tyler examined it.
The ancient blade was covered in countless dark marks and patches of corrosion. What initially looked like ordinary rust was actually a layer of impurities that had accumulated over its body through countless years.
"These impurities have accumulated for too long," the sword explained. "Some of them have even rusted into my body. If you want to restore me, ordinary methods will be useless."
"What do you need?"
"Dragon Vein Acid."
Tyler’s expression changed slightly. The sword continued listing the materials.
"Lava Moonlight Spiritual Spring water. Nine-Color Heaven Cleansing Sand. Ancient Starfall Powder. Blood of yin serpent. And several other rare materials."
The more it spoke, the more Tyler’s expression became strange.
Finally, the sword sighed.
"Even if you are the wealthiest person in the world, obtaining all of these materials is nearly impossible. Some of them are extremely rare, while others are controlled by ancient powers. As for the quantity required..."
It paused.
"Even if you managed to obtain them, you would probably only have enough to wipe away a small portion of the impurities with a cloth."
Tyler remained silent.
Then he smiled.
"Just give me the complete list."
The ancient sword stopped buzzing.
For the first time, it seemed genuinely stunned.
"You... actually want the list?"
"Of course."
Tyler leaned back in his chair.
"I’ll see what I can find."
The ancient sword remained motionless for several breaths.
If it had a throat, it probably would have swallowed nervously.
It had originally assumed that Tyler would give up after hearing the names of the materials.
Instead, the young man had simply asked for the list.
After a moment, the sword began slowly reciting every material required to restore its ancient body. And Tyler listened carefully.
