Synopsis
A chance encounter with a demon king's inner alchemy transforms a lazy white snake into a powerhouse of cultivation, though the sudden surge of power nearly destroys him through violent thunder calamities. Saved by the kindness of human children, the creature ascends to become the lord of all monsters under the name Yebai. The story shifts focus thousands of years later to the dynamic between this ancient entity and a man named Jiang Shi. While the snake demon remains persistent and affectionate in his own reptilian way, Jiang Shi is consumed by an intense, visceral phobia of snakes, leading to a chaotic cycle of screaming threats and reluctant submission. The writing maintains a lighthearted, almost absurd tone, prioritizing character chemistry and comedic friction over dense plot progression. It offers a breezy experience that rewards those who enjoy the tension of an unlikely pairing and a playful power imbalance, though the lack of heavy stakes might leave some wanting more depth.

Editorial Review
With a completed run of 98 chapters, this BL title delivers a concise and focused experience. The primary strength lies in the comedic timing and the clear contrast between the protagonist's terrifying status as a monster lord and his simplistic, almost pet-like persistence. The dialogue between Jiang Shi and the snake creates a rhythmic humor that carries the story effectively. However, the logically loose nature of the plot is a double-edged sword; while it enhances the relaxed atmosphere, it results in a story that lacks a strong driving force or significant emotional stakes. The work functions more as a series of vignettes than a tightly woven plot. For a completed work of this length, it provides a satisfying, low-stress conclusion, but the lack of complexity prevents it from being a truly gripping drama.
