Thus, since Zhou Tian had already rescued his warriors at that time and achieved his mission objective. Even if he had the ability to do more, Zhou Tian was not particularly interested at that moment. As a result, based on the situation at the time, when things reached this point, Zhou Tian decisively made the decision to retreat."Let’s go!"
Upon hearing Zhou Tian’s words, a group of warriors who were prepared to eliminate those powerful forces took no further action due to Zhou Tian’s order. After all, how Zhou Tian would view their actions was uncertain to them at that moment. But one thing they were sure of was that if Zhou Tian decided to abandon them, their current predicament would certainly end disastrously for them. Without them, Zhou Tian would not be affected in the slightest. Hence, under the necessity to depend on Zhou Tian, it was destined that Zhou Tian and those living beings’ positions were completely unequal. In such circumstances, anything that could potentially displease Zhou Tian, these living beings dared not do.
It was precisely for this reason that although Zhou Tian’s warriors estimated strong resentment against the living beings from those forces, because Zhou Tian did not act against them, the warriors dared not act rashly without knowing Zhou Tian’s thoughts.
Zhou Tian was completely unconcerned with his warriors’ thoughts, because, in his view, it mattered very little what those living beings thought at that time. He came to save them solely to ensure he did not suffer at the hands of those weaker forces. Were it not for this reason, even if all these subordinates were to perish, Zhou Tian would not spare them a glance.
Thus, Zhou Tian was only interested in his plans and actions, and since his objectives were already achieved, he couldn’t care less about what his subordinates thought.
"Return!"
After casually leaving them with a command, Zhou Tian’s figure flickered and vanished from his subordinates’ line of sight.
Anyway, as a mere avatar, Zhou Tian could appear and disappear at will, simply by withdrawing his energy. His subordinates, however, would likely need some time to return. Of course, for his subordinates, escaping disaster due to Zhou Tian’s intervention was a blessing. At present, they were just thinking about returning quickly without any other thoughts.
Such was the outcome, Zhou Tian departed without a word. Even though his subordinates were capable, they didn’t dare act without Zhou Tian’s insight. And since the survivors from those forces were severely injured by Zhou Tian, the battle naturally concluded when Zhou Tian and his subordinates withdrew.
Initially, both Zhou Tian and those forces should have gained some advantage from the conflict. However, due to Zhou Tian’s refusal to admit defeat and his personal intervention that shattered the enemy side, he directly seized victory in that battle.
Nevertheless, although Zhou Tian won that conflict, he hadn’t subdued his enemies. Thus, despite securing a victory, those forces had not given up their intention to target him. And given the strength of those forces, it wouldn’t take long before they reorganized sufficient manpower to act against Zhou Tian again.
In fact, due to the overwhelming power Zhou Tian displayed in the previous battle—so strong that those forces considered him unbeatable—either they wouldn’t act, or if they did, their strategy against Zhou Tian would likely not be as simple as now.
Of course, Zhou Tian didn’t care what those forces would do. With his strength, he didn’t need to regard those enemies as a large threat. No matter how much effort they put in, it was unlikely they could defeat him. Confident in his ability to defeat the enemies, Zhou Tian naturally wasn’t overly concerned about enemy deployments.
Instead, unrelated to those forces, after resolving that conflict, Zhou Tian’s energy was directly focused on another matter.
At first, Zhou Tian genuinely paid no attention, already considering the overall situation settled, and inevitably relaxed for a moment. However, due to his momentary carelessness, he ultimately provided the world consciousness of that world an opportunity to act. Otherwise, if Zhou Tian had closely monitored the other party, even within his territory, that world consciousness wouldn’t have had the chance to perform those minor actions.
But unfortunately, regardless of the reasons, Zhou Tian did indeed give that world consciousness a chance to play tricks. As a result, by being momentarily unguarded, the situation reached this point, and even though Zhou Tian was unhappy, he had no power at that moment to change anything.
Even if Zhou Tian’s Time Rule Cultivation was astonishing, he did not have the ability to directly reverse time in that world. Thus, what had already happened couldn’t be changed, and as the arrangement by that world consciousness exposed Zhou Tian’s existence to the forces of that world, Zhou Tian had no choice but to actively face the threat from those forces, regardless of his initial intentions.
Fortunately, although accidents occurred, that world consciousness lacked the thinking capability of living beings. As a result, while it instinctively made some minor actions, it hadn’t directly informed the Divine King ruling that world. Thus, although the situation changed, it hadn’t yet reached a disadvantageous stage for Zhou Tian.
If the Divine King discovered that world’s situation later, perhaps Zhou Tian could still achieve his objectives.
However, even though the situation hadn’t deteriorated to the worst extent, Zhou Tian must make some arrangements concerning the world consciousness. Otherwise, allowing that world consciousness to continue like this, who knows how many more troubles would arise.
Thus, without knowing the world consciousness’s minor actions, Zhou Tian wouldn’t have any actions. But since Zhou Tian now discovered the world consciousness’s minor actions, to avoid greater troubles resulting from it, Zhou Tian would inevitably take action to eliminate the threat.
Although it was certainly impossible for Zhou Tian, under the circumstances, to directly eliminate that world consciousness. At this moment, Zhou Tian didn’t have the ability to annex that world. Consequently, without the ability to annex the world, Zhou Tian naturally couldn’t deal with that world consciousness.
However, although Zhou Tian couldn’t eliminate that threat with his current abilities, he wouldn’t repeat the same mistake twice. Thus, while Zhou Tian didn’t consider eliminating that world consciousness, merely preventing the opponent’s minor actions and not giving the world consciousness a second chance to make minor moves was not an issue for Zhou Tian at that time.
Unfortunately, even after noticing the world consciousness’s minor actions, just by taking slight precautions, Zhou Tian wouldn’t need to worry about its minor actions affecting him. But even if Zhou Tian could prevent further minor actions from the world consciousness, he couldn’t erase the previous arrangements it made.
Thus, although Zhou Tian noticed the world consciousness’s minor actions and responded immediately, and although the world consciousness couldn’t perform further actions due to Zhou Tian’s response, the previous actions it took were already enough to have adverse effects on Zhou Tian.
