Chapter 3004: 982_2

7 min read

Just like before, when living beings from the outside world die in the Abyss World, part of their energy is often absorbed by the Abyss World. Moreover, through these deceased living beings, the Abyss World is able to study a part of the power system they practiced during their lifetimes. Although this method does not grant the ability to annex the world they originate from, studying the power of the opponents is very beneficial, whether for self-growth or for countering that world. Thus, when a Divine King from the Divine Realm dies in the Abyss World, the gains for the Abyss World will not be smaller than annexing a Lower World. In terms of resisting the Divine Realm, eliminating a Divine King is even more useful than annexing a Medium World.

For Zhou Tian, the Divine Realm is undoubtedly his greatest threat currently. Therefore, being able to effectively enhance his ability to resist the Divine Realm through such methods is naturally a good thing for Zhou Tian. Given the gains at that time, the costs incurred during the ambush were of little importance to Zhou Tian.

At the same time, after achieving such significant results from the previous action, Zhou Tian naturally would not lack confidence in his upcoming actions. Thus, since he had confidence in achieving corresponding outcomes in his future actions, Zhou Tian continued with his prior plan to take action.

Regarding his upcoming actions, Zhou Tian at that time was completely confident, after all, the gains from his previous actions were evident. Since Zhou Tian could successfully eliminate a Divine King using his plan before, he was confident that using the same tactics, he could continue to eliminate several more Divine Kings. Before that group of Divine Kings realized something was wrong, Zhou Tian’s actions at that time, no matter how many times they were attempted, should yield corresponding results.

Theoretically speaking, Zhou Tian’s thoughts then were absolutely unproblematic, as the circumstances at that time were evident. With the same conditions, Zhou Tian had succeeded before, so no matter how many attempts, using the same tactics, Zhou Tian had every reason to achieve the same results at that time.

However, although it was said like that then, and theoretically, as long as he carried it out that way, his actions should basically achieve his desired results. Yet in reality, despite Zhou Tian’s plan seeming to have no issues, once he actually started taking action, he inevitably encountered some resistance.

Originally, given the situation at that time, Zhou Tian had basically relieved the threat from those Divine Kings. Thus, as long as Zhou Tian continued his actions and slowly took care of that group of Divine Kings, regardless of the number of Divine Kings invading at that time and regardless of how much threat they pose to Zhou Tian after uniting, in that scenario, ultimately, this group of Divine Kings likely would no longer pose a threat to Zhou Tian.

Unfortunately, although from all aspects it seemed like Zhou Tian already had the capability to avert his crisis at that time, just when that group of Divine Kings could no longer pose a threat to him, the Divine Realm consciousness could not refrain from acting. Even if the Divine Realm consciousness itself lacked thinking capability, when matters developed to that stage, it knew that continuing like that would be disadvantageous for it.

For Zhou Tian, that group of Divine Kings was both a threat and an opportunity. If those Divine Kings joined forces against him, they definitely had the ability to eliminate Zhou Tian. Moreover, in that situation, this group of Divine Kings was undoubtedly a massive threat from any perspective.

However, if that group of Divine Kings did unite, they could indeed pose a huge threat to Zhou Tian at that time. But if they chose not to unite, no matter how strong they were, it wouldn’t be easy to threaten Zhou Tian.

When that group of Divine Kings could not pose a threat to Zhou Tian, their strength became meaningless. On the contrary, just like Zhou Tian’s previous actions, if any Divine King was eliminated by Zhou Tian, their death would become nutrients for the Abyss World. By the time the invading Divine Kings are all eliminated by Zhou Tian, the Abyssal Consciousness might have an almost complete understanding of the God Realm’s rules. Should that situation arise, even with the power of the Divine Realm, dealing with the Abyss World would likely be almost impossible.

Undoubtedly, even if the Divine Realm consciousness did not possess strong thinking capability, it could sense how detrimental that situation would be for itself. Thus, in that scenario, feeling how disadvantageous it was, the Divine Realm consciousness would undoubtedly not choose silence, regardless of what it was originally doing then.

Undoubtedly, if the Abyss World continues growing like that, it might become one of the Divine Realm’s formidable enemies in the future. The Divine Realm consciousness wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen, so it’s expected that it should be monitoring everything in the Abyss World. Even if it hadn’t been paying attention to the Abyss World initially, so long as it wasn’t completely unaware of events, with the death of a Divine King, the Divine Realm consciousness couldn’t possibly not pay attention.

As a result, in that situation, the Divine Realm consciousness, doing something secretly, suddenly realized that Zhou Tian had the ability to kill its subordinate Divine Kings. Moreover, several members of its subordinate Divine Kings had already died at Zhou Tian’s hands. Observing Zhou Tian’s behavior then, it seemed he planned to target other Divine Kings as well. Thus, unable to let Zhou Tian continue doing so, the Divine Realm consciousness had to take early action.

Everything went just as Zhou Tian had originally expected. Compared to the Divine Kings, the Divine Realm consciousness posed a much greater threat to Zhou Tian. When facing threats from that group of Divine Kings, as long as Zhou Tian adopted the right method, he not only wouldn’t need to worry about their threats, but he would also have the ability to counterattack. However, when facing the Divine Realm invasion, the pressure on Zhou Tian and the Abyss World was exceptionally grand.

Almost in an instant, the forcible invasion of the Divine Realm consciousness caused chaos in the rules of the Abyss World at that time. Everything hidden by Zhou Tian using the power of the Abyss World collapsed entirely in an instant. Due to this emerging situation, Zhou Tian’s killing of another Divine King, which was initially unlikely to be known by other Divine Kings, became exposed to them due to the interference of the Divine Realm consciousness.

Undoubtedly, it was immaterial if those Divine Kings were unaware of this situation. But now, knowing that in the absence of their attention, Zhou Tian had eliminated one of their companions, if not for this incident coming to light abruptly, it’s unknown how many things Zhou Tian would have done behind their backs.

Because of the death of another Divine King, that group of Divine Kings became alert at that time. Realizing that Zhou Tian could eliminate that Divine King then, they knew he could likely eliminate them too. In that situation, that group of Divine Kings, desiring to avoid death, inevitably had to take action.

They don’t necessarily seek to kill Zhou Tian, but at the very least, they cannot accept the fact that they would let Zhou Tian kill them. Thus, to prevent them from meeting the same fate as their companion, in the perspective of those Divine Kings, even an outright war with Zhou Tian seemed a worthwhile endeavor at that time.
