Chapter 549:
The Bear Takes a Bath
WE ALL DECIDED to take a bath together.
“You’re so dainty and pretty, Yuna. You have perfect skin.”
Seleiyu took a look at me once I was out of my uniform. I quickly hid myself. It was embarrassing having someone look at me that way, even if she was a girl too. Plus, unlike me, Seleiyu was fit, so I felt even more ashamed.
“You’re the one who’s pretty...Lady Seleiyu.”
For a second, I hesitated over what to call her. I’d been calling her Seleiyu in my mind, but this was probably my first time saying her name out loud. I wasn’t sure how to refer to her at first.
“Ha ha, just call me Seleiyu. You call Noir by her nickname, and you don’t use ‘lady’ with Shia, after all.”
“Are you sure? No one’s going to glare daggers at me or complain?”
“It should be fine. My friends at the academy call me by my first name too. And please don’t concern yourself with being overly polite to me. Let’s just chat normally.”
“Okay... Seleiyu.”
I did as she asked and went back to using my normal tone with her.
“Ah, by the way Lady Seleiyu, please call me Noa.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I would be happy if you did.”
“Then I will.”
“Thank you.”
Seleiyu seemed happy too.
“Yuna is so pretty, but you are too, Lady Seleiyu.”
“Thank you. That said, I do have some scrapes. It’s just that you can’t see them unless you look closely.”
Seleiyu showed us her arm. There really was a small scar right there on her pretty arm. Maybe she had gotten that while practicing swordplay? Noa studied Seleiyu’s arm.
“Well, it’s just a small nick, nothing major.”
When Seleiyu saw Noa’s expression, she smiled gently.
After that, we headed into the bath. Nobles really had huge baths, apparently. My bear house’s bath was pretty big, but this one was massive.
“Noa, please come over here and sit.”
Seleiyu indicated a small chair right in front of her. Noa seemed to understand what Seleiyu was thinking and sat down.
“I’m so jealous of Shia. It must be nice to have a little sister who would come all the way out here to cheer for her.”
“Honestly, I could only come here because Yuna escorted me. If she hadn’t been here, Father and Mother likely wouldn’t have given their permission.”
“Your parents must really trust her.” Seleiyu glanced at me while I started to wash myself off.
“Yes, they do,” Noa said. Her smile was blinding.
I was happy that they trusted me that much, but it was pretty embarrassing.
“Okay, I’ll start washing your hair now.”
Seleiyu seemed ecstatic as she started to lather up Noa’s long hair.
I was the one who usually washed her hair, so I felt a little left out.
“I’m going to start rinsing now.” Seleiyu started to dump hot water over Noa’s head. “Okay, I’ll do your back next.”
“You don’t have to,” Noa replied.
“I’m doing it because I want to, so don’t worry about it. I feel like now I finally found a little sister at the end. I’m really happy.”
“The end of what?”
