The chemistry between Mu Chao and Shen Chen adds a necessary layer of warmth to an otherwise bleak setting. However, the most glaring issue is the length. Listing a work as completed with only two chapters is highly problematic. It feels more like a conceptual sketch or a prologue than a fully realized novel.
