Chapter 835: 420: Thousands of Songs (Second Update)

4 min read

Although Lawrence Winters knew about the "Grant Branch," she was currently just a "suspected study abroad" younger sister, so it was impossible for her to know the specifics of "Grant Branch."Therefore, she looked up puzzled and asked, "...Protected by Grant Branch? What is Grant Branch?"

"As a younger sister, you don’t need to know what Grant Branch is, just know that dining here is the safest," the waitress smiled but didn’t continue the topic.

Lawrence Winters also decided not to pursue further questions, simply responded with a confused "Oh," and obediently lowered her head to dismantle her large lobster, breaking open the lobster tail to savor the tender meat.

"Salty Five, I’ll get you, you bastard! Where are you running to!"

She had only eaten half of the lobster when the two pursuing and attacking individuals returned from the other side.

The man in front, whose arm had been slashed, was running quickly, but the heavyset man behind him was not slow. Several times, the knife almost stabbed into the back of the man in front, but the person in front dodged like a monkey to the side, and the long knife, cutting through the wind, fell short again.

The pedestrians on the street watched with great interest, and some even started recording on their phones.

Lawrence Winters watched for a while and got used to it, calmly eating her dish while enjoying the live version of "Chinatown Pursuit."

The two men had raced up and down the street at least twice.

The sirens of police cars came and went, but no one intervened in the public murder.

Lawrence Winters finished her lobster, then her steamed spareribs with black bean sauce, and still watched the two men running frantically.

The long knife of the pursuing man was getting closer and closer to the back of the man in front.

Lawrence Winters closed her eyes, unable to watch any longer.

Nick Zeller had taught her the principle that if she could avoid cause and effect, she should avoid it.

But when it came to matters of life and death, she had to intervene.

She absolutely couldn’t stand idly by while someone died right in front of her.

She glanced at the table, grabbed the large lobster claw she had just peeled, and slowly lifted her gaze to the two men still running on the street.

Their speed seemed quick to the average person, but to Lawrence Winters, it was nothing.

She calmly watched ahead, calculating the direction of the wind, weighing the lobster claw in her hand, quickly calculating the angle and force needed to create the perfect trajectory so it would hit the wrist of the man holding the knife...

Three seconds later, she aimed just right, her wrist ready to exert force, when suddenly a voice yelled out from the front of the street: "Stop!"

The voice sounded familiar; it seemed to be the voice of Big D, whom she had just met.

Lawrence Winters hesitated, her hand holding the lobster claw not throwing it.

A tall, strong man charged out from the side, grabbing the wrist of the man with the knife, lightly jostling him, causing the knife to clatter to the ground.

The man who had been slashed turned to see Big D, yelling like he’d seen a savior: "Big D, save me! Big D, save me!"

The man with the knife urgently said, "Big D! This lousy gambler lost money but refuses to pay! We’ve chased him for days! Our boss said, if he doesn’t pay today, take off one of his hands!"

Big D reached out both hands, tightly gripping the two men, smiling as he said, "Please give me, Big D, some face. Let’s discuss this back home, don’t make a scene here, Mr. Zhuge will be here soon, don’t let others laugh at us."

Just then, the two men he held suddenly exchanged a glance and simultaneously attacked Big D!

Lawrence Winters widened her eyes; it turned out these two, who were previously chasing and hacking, were actually staging an act. Their true target was Big D?

The place where they initiated the attack was right across from the terrace where Lawrence Winters was seated.

This street was a one-way passage, only allowing room for one car, making it fairly narrow.

The electrical wires on Lawrence Winters’ terrace were directly tapped off from the roadside streetlights.

The small alley was strung with wires like a spider’s web.

And from Lawrence Winters’ position, she clearly saw Big D just stopping the attack from the injured arm’s man, while behind him, the man holding the long knife was already aiming at his chest.

Big D, attacked from both sides, only had time to handle the person in front of him.

In a flash, Lawrence Winters quickly changed her mind.

She suddenly stood up, as if startled, yet her hand shot the lobster claw like lightning overhead.
