This completed BL title offers a refreshing, albeit brief, excursion into urban metaphysics. Its primary strength lies in its imaginative premise; the concept of converting supernatural threats into emoticon packs provides a whimsical layer to the combat. At only 64 chapters, the story is a quick read that avoids the bloating often found in the genre. However, the author's self-described slow pacing is a double-edged sword. In a relatively short work, a slow progression can lead to a lack of narrative urgency, potentially leaving the plot feeling underdeveloped or the stakes too low. While the chemistry between Qi Wang and Wu Chao is sweet, the limited chapter count prevents a truly deep exploration of their growth.
