Chapter 33

3 min read

Afterword Hello to all my Famitsu Bunko readers! This is Sakuma Sasaki, the one who hasn’t been able to sleep at night, ever since I got the remake of Romancing SaGa 3 (that doesn’t mean I haven’t been sleeping in the morning, though). First of all, I’d like to thank everyone for picking up this book. Thanks to your support, I was able to release this second volume. As a token of my gratitude, I’m releasing a couple of short stories on the novel site, Kakuyomu at https://kakuyomu.jp/works/1177354054882231012. There, you can read all about how the baths came to be in the Demon King’s castle and how Arian befriended the bull-headed Kalbi and the pig-headed Sirloin. I wrote a lot of stuff about what happened between the first and second novels, so please take a look if you’d like to read more about it. Also on Kakuyomu, I uploaded a short story collaboration between myself and Kaname Aizuki, the author of The First Thing We Did When We Got to Another World Was Check the Laws of Physics. The short story is titled The Dirty Laws of Physics Completely Unrelated to the Goddess’s Heroes, about how Shinichi works with the main characters of Laws of Physics when the Demon King summons them to their world. Read it at https://kakuyomu.jp/works/1177354054882783765. Since The Dirty Way is, at its heart, a fantasy series, this story ended up with a little sprinkling of magical realism. I also worked with Setsugetsuka, the author of It’s Another World, but I’m Just Farming Monsters to write another short story collab titled A Dirty Day Out With the Goddess’s Hero! A Magnificent Dinner Party! In this story, they are suddenly taken to the world of Farming Monsters, where their food is delicious. It was fun to see the contrast between their world and the disgusting dishes in The Goddess’s Heroes world, so please check it out. Lastly, I’d like to make an announcement: I’m currently working on the next installment of The Dirty Way. The main heroine of the first volume was Arian, and the second volume focused on Rino, so I wonder who will be the focus in the third…? Well, do I even need to say it? I don’t have a deadline set yet, but if all goes well, I should be able to get it to you in the fall, so please don’t set your expectations too high as you wait for the next installment. All right, well, I’m about to run out of space, so I’d like to thank the illustrator Asagi Tosaka, my editing manager Kimiko Gibu, all the people at the publishers, and everyone else who has supported me. Well, that’s it from me for now! Sakuma Sasaki, May 2017
