Vandal was on his way to literally being carved into pioneer village history. He was the one who had chosen to give up on trying to conceal himself, so he couldn’t complain . . . but were statues of him going to pop up everywhere he went in the future? Vandal really didn’t want that to happen, even if most of the villages were so far off the main road that they were unlikely to be visited by many travelers.

Vandal blinked, surprised to see that his story wasn’t just carved into the stone of the new villages but also into his status. Still, this nice-sounding Alias was more than socially acceptable and didn’t require any explanation, so he was pretty happy with it overall.
“Ah, I’d also like to use the Job Change Chamber today as well, if that’s okay.”
“It’s in the mayor’s house.”
The Job Change Chamber was normally located in a guild, but it wasn’t just adventurers and magicians who took Jobs. Farmer, Hunter, and Fisherman were also all respectable Jobs that people could take. In small villages like this one, the Job Change Chamber was therefore often located in the mayor’s house. Vandal took along a bottle of wine he had picked up from the cellar of the magicians’ guild master as a gift and went over to the mayor’s house.
After entering the chamber, he saw a crystal a lot smaller than the one in Talosheim. He touched it.

“That’s a lot more than last time!” Rodocolte’s curse hardly made a difference at this point, with so many options. Although since Vandal hoped to live three, maybe five thousand years, he’d probably run out eventually.
Tongue Whipper sounded straightforward, but he wasn’t sure about presumably fighting with his tongue all the time. Berserker had to have some twist to it compared to RPGs, to say it was a completely new Job for this world. Maybe it was related to his new skills like Scream, Spiritual Corrosion, and Spiritual Abnormality.
Necromancer clearly involved the use of necromancy. It might allow him to draw further power out from Princess Lebia and other ghosts. Dark Doctor would likely apply modifiers to skills like Surgery and Poison Dispersal. He assumed all the healing he did during his time in the pioneer villages triggered it. Dungeon Builder came from having made a dungeon and Demon King’s Familiar from drinking the blood of the Demon King.
He wasn’t sure about Magic Master, though. That also sounded like a Job that should already exist, but his curse didn’t let him take those. That was suspicious. It almost felt like some kind of trap.
“Anyway, Dungeon Builder and Demon King’s Envoy look a bit risky to dabble with,” Vandal said. “I’ll think about them later in life. Same thing for Necromancer, and I’m just not sure about Magic Master.”
Vandal scratched his head. “That leaves Insect Master, Arborist, Spirit Gladiator, and Dark Doctor to choose from. Bah, if I managed to register as an adventurer then I wouldn’t need to worry so much about this!” Since the adventurer’s guild would see his status when he registered, he still wanted to avoid Jobs that would really catch the eye.
He wondered if he should have registered with the magicians’ guild when he had the guild master under his control. But the plan had always been to discredit the man. It might have caused issues later if he had been recommended by someone who was then promptly executed or locked up for life.
“I’ll go with Insect Master,” Vandal decided.
